Martí Riverola Bataller (born 26 January 1991) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Andorran club Inter d'Escaldes. Club career Barcelona Born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Riverola joined FC Barcelona's youth academy in 1999 at the age of 8, and started his career as a forward, being reconverted into a midfielder for the 2004–05 season. In spite of this change he retained his goalscoring touch, being the under-19's second-top scorer in 2010 with 13 goals. In late 2009, still registered with the juniors, Riverola made his debut for Barcelona's B team, in a 2–0 away win against neighbours RCD Espanyol B. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. The 2011–12 Segunda División season (known as the Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 81st since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 26 August 2011 after the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) called a strike, the regular league ended on 3 June 2012, while the entire season ended on 16 June 2012 with the promotion play-off finals.
