Martin Liivamägi
Martin Liivamägi (born 5 July 1988) is an Estonian swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. He is a two-time Olympian (2008 and 2012), a 2010 Pac-10 champion in the 200 m individual medley, a double NCAA team titleholder (2011 and 2012), a 43-time Estonian swimming champion, and a 24-time national record holder in different age groups. He also won a silver medal in the same stroke at the 2006 European Junior Swimming Championships in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Personal life Liivamagi was born in Tallinn, Estonia, the son of Kalle and Tiina Liivamägi. He attended Tallinna Saksa Gümnaasium, and also, swam for the Kalevi Ujumiskool for four years, until he graduated from high school in 2007. One year before, Liivamagi rose to international fame at the 2006 European Junior Swimming Championships in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, where he earned a silver medal in the 200 m individual medley. László Cseh
László Cseh (; born 3 December 1985) is a retired Hungarian competitive swimmer and six-time Olympic medalist. He is a 33-time European Champion. His father, László Cseh Sr., also represented Hungary at the Olympics in swimming. In 2020, Braden Keith of SwimSwam nominated him as number 1 withitop 10 male swimmerswho have never won Olympic gold. Personal life The son of an Olympic swimmer, Cseh started swimming competitively at an early age. Cseh is coached by György Turi and Zoltán Nemes. He holds a scholarship with the Olympic Solidarity programme. Swimming career At the 2003 World Championships, Cseh captured a silver medal in the 400 m individual medley, his first medal at the highest level. 2009 European Short Course Swimming Championships
The 2009 European Short Course Swimming Championships was held in Istanbul, Turkey, from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 December 2009. A temporary swimming pool was built within the Abdi İpekçi Arena. The event was held over four days with: heats, semifinals and a final for the 50 m and 100 m events and heats and a final for all other events with the exception of the women's 800 m and men's 1500 m freestyle which were heat declared winners. Heats were held in the morning, with semifinals, finals and the fastest heat of the distance freestyle events in the evening. Each nation was permitted to enter three swimmers into each individual event, however only the fastest two were able to progress to the semifinal and/or final. The Swimming portion of the 13th FINA World Aquatics Championships was held at the Foro Italico sports complex in Rome, Italy from Sunday 26 July – Sunday 2 August 2009. It featured 40 long course (50m) events (20 for males, 20 for females; 17 individual events and 3 relays for each gender). Competition schedule The evening session schedule for the 2009 Worlds was: Note: prelims/semifinals/finals were swum in events 200 m and shorter; prelims/finals in events 400 m or longer. For prelims/semifinals/finals events, prelims and semis were held on the same day, with finals being the evening of the following day.
