Martin Frändesjö
Lars Gunnar Martin Frändesjö (born 18 July 1971) is a Swedish handball player and coach. He won the European Championship four times and the World Championship once, and competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics and in the 2000 Summer Olympics. He has also worked as a handball expert on Swedish television. Career Frändesjö started playing handball at the age of 7. In Sweden he played for Kärra HF, HP Warta, IK Sävehof and Redbergslids IK. With Redbergslids IK he won the Swedish championship in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. In the summer of 1998 he joined German side GWD Minden. After a severe hit to the ribs during a Bundesliga game, he had to have his spleen removed in February 1999. In the summer of 2000 he joined French side Montpellier Handball, but he did not manage to get a lot of playing time as Michaël Guigou were preferred at the club. European Men's Handball Championship
The European Men's Handball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national handball teams of Europe and takes place every two years since 1994, in the even-numbered year between the World Championship. In addition to crowning the European champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games and World Championship. Michaël Guigou
Michaël Guigou (born 28 January 1982) is a French former handball player and current coach. As a player he played the French national team. He was included in the European Handball Federation Hall of Fame in 2023. Regular member of the France national team, he was on the team that won the gold medal at three Olympics (2008, 2012, and 2020), four World championships (2009, 2011, 2015, and 2017) and three European championships (2006, 2010, and 2014). During the final at the 2009 world championship, he was the highest scorer in one match with 10 goals (including 7 penalties out of 7) and finished as highest scorer of the French team with 52 goals. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a Handball goalkeeper, goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. World Men's Handball Championship
The IHF Men's Handball World Championship has been organized indoor by the International Handball Federation since 1938. In the twenty-nine tournaments held, twelve national teams have won the title. France is the most successful team with six titles, followed by Sweden, Denmark and Romania with four titles each.
