Martin is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Gosnells. It was named in 1974 after a pioneer family of the Gosnells district, and in particular Edward Victor Martin who had served for 37 years on the council. Martin was formerly the location of the popular tourist attraction Cohuna Koala Park owned and run by the Sorbello family at 322 Mills Road East. The City of Gosnells is a local government area in the southeastern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth, located northwest of Armadale and about southeast of Perth's central business district. The City covers an area of , a portion of which is state forest rising into the Darling Scarp to the east, and had a population of approximately 118,000 at the 2016 Census. Roleystone, Western Australia
Roleystone is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the south eastern corridor. History In 1830, several grants of land were given to British colonists along the upper Canning River with Stephen Henty acquiring 5,000 acres and Captain Charles Blisset Churchman obtaining 107 acres. These land grants encompassed what is now Araluen and Roleystone, the name of the latter being derived from "Rolleston", the title Churchman gave his property. The land remained untended with Churchman dying in 1833 and Henty surrendering his land grant in 1841. It was purchased by Thomas Buckingham in 1858, who referred to it as "Rollingstone". The area was also referred to as "The Rolling Stone" and "Rowley Stone" in early police reports. Colonel Harland David Sanders (September 9, 1890 December 16, 1980) was an American businessman, best known for founding fast food chicken restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (also known as KFC) and later acting as the company's brand ambassador and symbol. Cohuna Koala Park
Cohunu Koala Park is a wildlife sanctuary on of bushland at Byford, near Perth, Western Australia. Its resident koalas are surrounded by neighbouring wombats, kangaroos, wallabies, quokkas, echidnas, dingoes, pigs, donkeys, ponies, llamas, alpacas, deers, ostriches, emus, owls, cockatoos, water birds, freshwater crocodiles and a couple of other animals too. Also found around the park are lifelike replicas of dinosaurs amongst other decorative sculptures. Kelmscott is a southeastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the local government area of the City of Armadale. It is southeast of Perth along the Albany Highway. Kelmscott was one of four initial townsites established in the Swan River Colony. It was named after Kelmscott, Oxfordshire, the birthplace of the first Anglican clergyman in the colony, Thomas Hobbes Scott (1783–1860). The suburb of Kelmscott is bisected by the Canning River. On the western side of the river is the flat coastal plain upon which most of Perth is situated. Kalamunda is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. Politically, the district is a marginal one. Based on the results of the 2005 state election, the seat was created with a Liberal Party majority of 50.2% to 49.8% versus the Labor Party. History Kalamunda was first created for the 1974 election and abolished ahead of the 1989 election. Gosnells is a suburb located within the City of Gosnells. Gosnells is approximately south-east of the Perth central business district. It contains the Gosnells town centre which includes the Council offices, library and the Gosnells Railway Station.
