Marthine Østenstad (born 18 March 2001) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a defender for and captains Toppserien club Brann. She has also been capped for Norway, following in the footsteps of her father Egil Østenstad. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield player whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. The 2023 Toppserien was the 40th season of the highest women's football league in Norway. The season started on 25 March 2023 and ended on 12 November 2023. The season did not include championship and relegation playoffs rounds which were scrapped after only one season.
