Marrow (character)
Marrow (Sarah) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Jeph Loeb and artist David Brewer, the character first appeared in ''Cable'' #15 (September 1994). Marrow belongs to the subspecies of humans called mutants who are born with superhuman abilities. She is able to make her bones grow out of her skin. These can be removed from her body, providing her with potential knives, clubs, and body armor. As a child, Sarah was taken in by the Morlocks, a band of grotesque-looking mutants who hid in tunnels beneath New York City. As a young adult, she formed the violent splinter cell Gene Nation until, under the orders of Morlock leader Callisto, she joined the X-Men to redeem herself. In American comic books published by Marvel Comics, a mutant is a human being that possesses a genetics, genetic trait called the X-gene. It causes the mutant to develop Superpower (ability), superhuman powers that manifest at puberty. Human mutants are sometimes referred to as a human subspecies ''Homo sapiens superior'' or simply ''Homo superior''. Mutants are the evolutionary progeny of ''Homo sapiens'', and are actually revealed to be the next stage in human evolution. The accuracy of this is the subject of much debate in the Marvel Universe. Mikhail Nikolaievitch Rasputin is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is the older brother of Colossus of the X-Men and Magik of the New Mutants and first appeared in ''Uncanny X-Men'' #285 (February 1992). The Marauders is a team of fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. "Mutant Massacre" was a 1986 Marvel Comics crossover storyline. It primarily involved the superhero teams the X-Men and X-Factor. The solo hero Thor, the New Mutants, Power Pack, and Daredevil crossed over for an issue each in their own comic books. The crossover was a surprise success, yielding sales boosts to the mutant-based books and prompting Marvel Comics' long-running policy of holding such mutant crossovers annually.
