Marlborough–Sarina Road is a state-controlled district road (number 512) rated as a local road of regional significance (LRRS). It runs from the Bruce Highway in , via an inland route, to the Bruce Highway in , a distance of . It was part of the Bruce Highway until 1982. Route description Marlborough–Sarina Road starts at an intersection with the Bruce Highway in Marlborough. It runs southwest and west as Marlborough Road through the localities of Marlborough and Mount Gardiner, where it passes the exit to Duaringa–Apis Creek Road to the south. Next it turns northwest as Marlborough–Sarina Road through Clarke Creek, where it passes the exit to May Downs Road to the southwest. Continuing northwest through Lotus Creek it passes the exit to St Lawrence–Croydon Road to the northeast. Turning north it passes through Oxford, crossing Funnel Creek as it enters Nebo. Bruce Highway
The Bruce Highway is a major highway in Queensland, Australia. Commencing in the state capital, Brisbane, it passes through areas close to the eastern coast on its way to Cairns in Far North Queensland. The route is part of the Australian National Highway (Australia), National Highway and also part of Highway 1 (Australia), Highway 1, the longest highway route in Australia. Its length is approximately ; it is entirely sealed with bitumen. The highway is named after a popular former Queensland and federal politician, Henry Bruce (Australian politician), Harry Bruce. Sarina is a rural town and coastal locality in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Sarina had a population of 5,619 people. Geography Sarina lies just inland of the east coast of Queensland, south of the city of Mackay, and approximately north of the city of Rockhampton. The Round Australia Trial was a long distance rally (a form of motorsport that takes place on public or private roads), which was run on multiple occasions between 1953 and 1998, circumnavigating Australia. Its early years were tremendously popular as the roads through large portions of the country, particularly west of Adelaide, were unformed. Automobile manufacturers enthused over the event as it provided a particularly severe test event for their products, proving their cars were able to stand up to whatever conditions remote Australia could provide. Livingstone Shire
The Shire of Livingstone is a local government area located in the Capricornia region of Central Queensland, Queensland, Australia, to the immediate north and east of the regional city of Rockhampton. The shire, administered from the coastal town of Yeppoon, covers an area of , and existed as a local government entity from 1879 until 2008, when it amalgamated with several other councils to become the Rockhampton Region. The Shire was re-established on 1 January 2014 following a successful de-amalgamation referendum in 2013. Industry within the shire is diverse. Capricorn Highway
The Capricorn Highway is located in Central Queensland, Australia, and links the city of Rockhampton with western Queensland. The highway is long, and joins the Landsborough Highway at Barcaldine. Formerly National Route 66, Queensland began to convert to the alphanumeric system much of Australia had adopted in the early-2000s and is now designated as A4. Fitzroy Developmental Road
The Fitzroy Developmental Road is a designated road in the Central Highlands Region of Queensland consisting of three separate sections. The general direction is from south to north. It is nicknamed the Beef Road. Route description Southern section The southern section leaves the Leichhardt Highway at a point north of Taroom as State Route 7. This section meets the Dawson Highway in the locality of Rhydding, east of Bauhinia.
