Markku Pölönen
Markku Tapani Pölönen (born 16 September 1957 in Eno) is a Finnish film director, screenwriter, and editor; and the owner of film production company Suomen Filmiteollisuus. Pölönen's best known work is the 2004 film '' Dog Nail Clipper'' — written and directed by Pölönen — which was honoured in five categories at the 2005 Jussi Awards (Finland's premier film awards) including Best Direction and Best Script and which film critic Jay Weissberg from ''Variety'' called Pölönen's "most mature work to date". Pölönen has received numerous additional Jussi awards, including best picture and best screenplay for '' Onnen Maa'' (1994); best picture and best director for '' Kivenpyörittäjän kylä'' (1995); and best picture, best director, and best screenplay for '' A Summer by the River'' (1999) Pölönen has also been nominated for two other Jussis that he did not win. Eno, Finland
Eno is a former municipality of Finland, now part of Joensuu. It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the North Karelia region. The municipality had a population of 6,764 (as of January 1, 2006) and covered an area of 1,088.25 km2 of which 149.30 km2 was water. The population density was 6.2 inhabitants per km2. Eno railway station is the first station north of Joensuu on the railway between Joensuu and Nurmes. The municipality was unilingually Finnish. The name ''Eno'' comes from the Karelian word, which means the center of the river, where the water flows most strongly. The beaver of the coat of arms on the triple hill refers to Majoinvaara in Eno, and the ax carried on its shoulder symbolizes deforestation and forestry. Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger's syndrome or Asperger's, is a diagnostic label that has historically been used to describe a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. Asperger syndrome has been merged with other conditions into autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and is no longer a diagnosis in the WHO's ICD-11 or the APA's DSM-5-TR. The film is set in the 1950s Eastern Finland and tells the story of father Tenho ( Pertti Koivula) and son Topi ( Simo Kontio) after Tenho's wife — Topi's mother — dies and leaves the two men unable to pay rent.
