Mark McKenzie (composer)
Mark McKenzie is an American film composer and orchestrator. Life and career Mark McKenzie was born in Lake City, Minnesota. He received his undergraduate degree in music composition from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, studying with David and Nancy Baker, Michael Cunningham and Ivar Lunde. He received his Masters and Doctorate in music composition from the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles where he studied with Pierre Boulez, Morten Lauridsen, Witold Lutoslawski, Anthony Vazzana and Frederick Lesemann. The magazine ''Variety'' wrote, "Mark McKenzie's commanding orchestral prowess puts him among the foremost symphonists in Hollywood." Lake City is a city in Goodhue County, Minnesota, Goodhue and Wabasha County, Minnesota, Wabasha counties in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Randy Edelman (born June 10, 1947) is an American musician, Record producer, producer, and composer and Conducting, conductor for Film score, film and television. Bruce Harold Broughton (born March 8, 1945) is an American orchestral composer of television, film, and video game scores and concert works. He has composed several highly acclaimed soundtracks over his extensive career and has contributed many pieces to music archives, including the 1994 version of the 20th Century Fox fanfare with short versions for 20th Century Fox Television and Foxstar Productions and conducting the Cinergi Pictures logo composed by Jerry Goldsmith. John Barry Prendergast (3 November 1933 – 30 January 2011) was an English composer and conductor of film music. Born in York, Barry spent his early years working in cinemas owned by his father. During his national service with the British Army in Cyprus, Barry began performing as a musician after learning to play the trumpet. Upon completing his national service, he formed a band in 1957, the John Barry Seven. He later developed an interest in composing and arranging music, making his début for television in 1958. He came to the notice of the filmmakers of the first James Bond film '' Dr. No'', who were dissatisfied with a theme for James Bond given to them by Monty Norman.
