Marjan Kamali (born 1971) is an Iranian-American novelist and author. Her novels have been published in more than 20 languages and have received both national and international acclaim She is a 2022 NEA Literature Fellow. Biography Kamali was born in Turkey to Iranian parents. She soon moved to Iran where she lived for a few years, followed by Hamburg, Germany where she started school. She subsequently lived in Kenya and Iran again before settling in the U.S. in 1982. Kamali received a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA from Columbia University, and an MFA from New York University. Mahsa Vahdat (in Persian مهسا وحدت) (born 29 October 1973, Tehran, Iran) is a Persian classical and world music singer. Mahsa Vahdat's music style is contemporary expression inspired by old traditional and folk and regional music of Persia/Iran that she developed for many years and it is the result of work with many musicians from Iran and other countries. She writes most of her songs. In her music she also developed dialogue between other cultures in a high artistic quality and she got a huge response internationally. Marianne de Boer, later known as Marjan Unger (11 February 1946 – 27 June 2018), was a Dutch art historian. She acquired a public reputation as the author of a standard work on Dutch jewelry and as a jewelry collector. Maria Janna "Marjan" Schwegman (born 20 February 1951, Middenmeer) is a Dutch historian who was managing director of the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies from March 2007 to 18 February 2016. Besides that, she is a professor in Politics and Culture in the 20th century at the faculty of Humanities at Utrecht University. Marjan Sax (born 26 December 1947) is a Dutch feminist lesbian activist, member of Dolle Mina and co-founder of a number of feminist organisations, ethical bank Mama Cash among them. Sax is also an advisor for charity organisations. Life Sax was born in Amsterdam and studied politics at the University of Amsterdam. She was teamleader at the Open School in the North of Amsterdam from April 1977 to 1981. Marjan Salahshouri (, born 12 October 1996) is an Iranian taekwondo practitioner. She represented Iran at the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games, claiming a silver medal and a bronze medal in the women's poomsae individual event. Marjan Ridder (born 3 May 1953 as Marjan Luesken) is a Dutch badminton player. Career Ridder won 17 Dutch titles. Internationally she was most successful in women's doubles, usually partnered with Joke van Beusekom, winning at the (first) European Youth Championships in 1969, the Denmark Open in 1972 and 1975, the Irish International in 1975, and the Dutch Open in 1977. Marjan Ingrid Olyslager (born 8 March 1962) is a retired Dutch sprinter. She competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in the 100 m hurdles and 4 × 100 m relay, reaching the semifinals. She won a silver medal at the 1988 European Indoor Championships in the 60 m hurdles. Nationally, she set multiple records and won 12 titles in hurdles events.
