It was the first Persian feature film in the history of Iranian cinema to be produced and directed by a Persian woman, Shahla Riahi, a well-known actress and singer. The 110-minute 35mm, black-and-white film was produced by Arya Film. Shahla Riahi ( , 10 September 1926 – 31 December 2019) was an Iranian actress and film director. Born in Tehran Tehran (; , ''Tehrân'') is the capital and largest city of Iran. It is the capital of Tehran province, and the administrative center for Tehran County and its Central District (Tehran County), Central District. With a population of around 9. ..., she started stage acting in 1944 and first appeared in cinema in ''Golden Dreams''.
