Mariya Takeuchi
is a Japanese singer, songwriter, and record producer. With over 16 million records sold, Takeuchi is one of the List of best-selling music artists in Japan#10 million to 19 million records, best-selling music artists in Japan and is deemed the "Honorific nicknames in popular music, Queen of City Pop" and an influential figure in City pop, the genre. Internationally, her song "Plastic Love" received a cult following and is credited as the catalyst of the City pop#21st century resurgence, 21st century revival of city pop. Takeuchi was born in Taisha, Shimane, Taisha, Hikawa District, Shimane, Hikawa district, now the city of Izumo, Shimane, and attended Keio University. Taisha, Shimane
was a town located in Hikawa District, Shimane Prefecture, Japan. Population As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 15,733 and a density of 376.39 persons per km2. The total area was 41.80 km2. History On March 22, 2005, Taisha, along with the city of Hirata, the towns of Koryō, Sada and Taki (all from Hikawa District), was merged into the expanded city of Izumo. Attractions Taisha is famous for being the location of Izumo Taisha shrine, the oldest Shinto shrine in Japan.
