Marion-Handley
The Marion-Handley was an automobile built in Jackson, Michigan by the Mutual Motors Corporation from 1916 to 1918. History Mutual Motors Corporation was formed by combining the Imperial Automobile Company and Marion Motor Car Company. The ''Imperial'' was discontinued and the ''Marion'' became the Marion-Handley. Two models were available, a touring car and a four-seater roadster. The 6-40 model was built on a wheelbase, and the 6-60 was offered with a wheelbase. The Marion-Handley was an assembled car equipped with a Continental six-cylinder engine. Marion (automobile)
The Marion was an automobile produced by the Marion Motor Car Company in Indianapolis (Marion County), Indiana from 1904 to 1915. Marion was also used for prototype automobiles in 1901 by the Marion Automobile Company of Marion, Ohio, which later operated as a garage. A ''Marion Flyer'' was listed in 1910 by the Marion Automobile & Manufacturing Company in Marion, Indiana, but no production was reported. History In 1904 the Marion Motor Car Company, based in Indianapolis,entered automobile production building mid-priced to high-priced automobiles. Early versions of the Marion car had transversely-mounted 16-hp Reeves air-cooled engines, and double chain drive. Imperial Automobile Company
The Imperial Automobile Company of Jackson, Michigan, was formed by the brothers T. A. and George N. Campbell in 1908, who also ran the Jackson Carriage Company. History Imperial produced mid-size cars with four-cylinder engines; the bodywork and mechanicals were primarily off-the-shelf rather than bespoke. Coachwork was done out-of-house by Beaudette Company, which also did work for Buick and Ford. In 1912 the Imperial factory burned down and the company moved into the old Buick truck plant. In 1914 a six-cylinder engine was introduced. Car production lasted until 1916. In 1915, Imperial merged with Marion from Indianapolis, Indiana to form Mutual Motors Company. Continental Motors Company was an American manufacturer of internal combustion engines. Touring car and tourer are both terms for open cars (i.e. cars without a fixed roof). "Touring car" is a style of open car built in the United States which seats four or more people. The style was popular from the early 1900s to the 1930s.
