Mario Kovač (artist)
Mario Kovač (born 25 October 1975) is a prominent Croatian theatre and movie director, but also known as a multi-talented entertainer, TV program maker, musician and DJ, as well as activist for numerous causes on the left and green political spectrum. Early life He was a member of Zagreb Youths Theatre school of acting from 1984 to 1996, and during that period he took part in over 50 professional and amateur projects, mainly as actor. He also played in many co-production foreign movies. In 1995, he formed Schmrtz Teatar as an independent theatre group of young people interested in theatre, modern primitivism, alternative lifestyles and subcultural activities as well as in recycling of the old ideas about ''modernity'' and ''political influence'' of theatre. In less than five years they have produced over 120 plays, performances, shows, concerts, happenings, installations or actions. Milan Bandić
Milan Bandić (22 November 1955 – 28 February 2021) was a Croatian politician and the longest-serving mayor of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Bandić was mayor almost continuously from 2000 to 2021, except during the time between his resignation in 2002 and the 2005 election. He was also suspended from exercising his powers and duties for several months after his 2014 arrest over a corruption scandal. Zagreb Pride () is the annual LGBTQ, LGBTIQ+ pride march in the city of Zagreb, Croatia, which first took place in 2002, as the first successful pride march in Southeast Europe. Zagreb Pride organizers say their work was inspired by the Stonewall Riots and the Gay Liberation Front. It is self-identified as LGBTIQ+ march and therefore in 2003 changed its name from Gay Pride Zagreb into Zagreb Pride.
