Marina Pendeš
Marina Pendeš (born 20 August 1964) is a Bosnian Croat politician serving as member of the national House of Peoples since 2019. She served as Minister of Defence from 2015 to 2019 and Deputy Minister of Defence from 2004 to 2015. Previously, she was a member of the Central Bosnia Canton Assembly and later Government from 2002 to 2004. Pendeš is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina, currently also a member of the Presidency and Main Board of the party. Early life and education Pendeš was born in Travnik on 20 August 1964. She attended elementary school in Vitez and gymnasium in Travnik. She became a member of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia in 1987. Pendeš graduated in electrical engineering from the Military Technical Academy "Ivan Gošnjak" in Zagreb in 1988, after receiving a scholarship from the Yugoslav People's Army. House Of Peoples Of Bosnia And Herzegovina
The House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, separator=/, Dom naroda Bosne i Hercegovine, Дом народа Босне и Херцеговине) is one of the two chambers of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the other chamber being the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was established through the signing of the Dayton Agreement in 1995. It has 15 members equally distributed among the three ethnic groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina: 5 Bosniaks, 5 Serbs, and 5 Croats. According to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the members of the House of Peoples are appointed so that "designated Croat and Bosniak delegates from the Federation shall be selected, respectively, by the Croat and Bosniak delegates to the House of Peoples of the Federation. Croatian Defence Council
The Croatian Defence Council (, HVO) was the armed wing of the self-proclaimed Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia, a breakaway entity unrecognised by the international community and accused of ethnic-based violence during the conflict. It existed in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1991 and 1996. The HVO was the main military force of the Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the initial stage of the Bosnian War, the HVO fought alongside the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) against the Army of Republika Srpska, but in the latter stage of the conflict clashed against its former ally, particularly in the Mostar area. The European Community Monitoring Mission estimated the strength of the HVO in the beginning of 1993 at 45,000–55,000. Ivo Miro Jović
Ivo Miro Jović (born 15 July 1950) is a Bosnian Croat former politician who served as the 5th Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2005 to 2006. He was a member of both the national House of Peoples and House of Representatives. Jović has been a member of the Croatian Democratic Union since 1990. Early career After Jović had graduated as a history teacher from the University of Sarajevo, he worked as a teacher in Ilijaš and Kiseljak. 2018 Bosnian General Election
General elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 7 October 2018. They decided the makeup of the presidency as well as national, entity and cantonal governments. Voter turnout was 54%. The elections for the House of Representatives were divided into two; one for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one for Republika Srpska. In the presidential election, voters in the Federation elected Bosniak Šefik Džaferović and Croat Željko Komšić, while voters in Republika Srpska elected Serb Milorad Dodik.
