Stavanger
Stavanger (, , US usually , ) is a city and municipality in Norway. It is the fourth largest city and third largest metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighboring Sandnes) and the administrative center of Rogaland county. The municipality is the fourth most populous in Norway. Located on the Stavanger Peninsula in southwest Norway, Stavanger counts its official founding year as 1125, the year the Stavanger Cathedral was completed. Stavanger's core is to a large degree 18th- and 19th-century wooden houses that are protected and considered part of the city's cultural heritage. This has caused the town center and inner city to retain a small-town character with an unusually high ratio of detached houses, and has contributed significantly to spreading the city's population growth to outlying parts of Greater Stavanger. The city's population rapidly grew in the late 20th century due to its oil industry. Stavanger is known today as the Oil Capital of Norway. No ... Melodi Grand Prix 2007
Melodi Grand Prix 2007 (shortened ''MGP 2007'') was the television show in which the Norwegian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 was chosen. Just like in 2006, there were three semifinals held before the final, where televoting decided the top four songs, the top two of which went to the final (in random order), and the songs who were placed 3rd and 4th went to the 'Second Chance' semifinal (also in random order). If NRK follow their traditional ways, it is unlikely we will ever find out the full results of the semifinals. On 12 October 2006, NRK announced that it had received 464 songs for the 2007 Melodi Grand Prix, over half of which came from Sweden. However, in the final selection of the 18 participating e ... People From Søgne
A person ( : people) is a being that has certain capacities or attributes such as reason, morality, consciousness or self-consciousness, and being a part of a culturally established form of social relations such as kinship, ownership of property, or legal responsibility. The defining features of personhood and, consequently, what makes a person count as a person, differ widely among cultures and contexts. In addition to the question of personhood, of what makes a being count as a person to begin with, there are further questions about personal identity and self: both about what makes any particular person that particular person instead of another, and about what makes a person at one time the same person as they were or will be at another time despite any intervening changes. The plural form "people" is often used to refer to an entire nation or ethnic group (as in "a people"), and this was the original meaning of the word; it subsequently acquired its use as a plural form of p ... My Fire (Marika Lejon Album)
"My Fire" is a song recorded and performed by American Dance musicians Nile Rodgers and Tony Moran, featuring vocals from American singer (and Chic vocalist) Kimberly Davis. The song is co-produced by Rodgers, Moran and Georg Bissen. The collaboration marks Rodgers' fifth, Moran's seventh, and Davis' first number one, on ''Billboard's'' Dance Club Songs chart, reaching the summit in its July 29, 2017 issue. In an interview with ''Billboard'' the artists discussed how the collaboration came together, which began after Rodgers heard a rough demo of the song. "The flame is burning, just waiting to be fanned," Davis said in a statement. "I hope our song makes people feel good, as though they’re in the middle of a party, letting go and having fun." It was also Davis' idea to ask Moran, whom she has worked with on previous projects, to have Rodgers involved in this effort, adding "Of course, I said yes. Not only is he my boss but he’s also Nile Rodgers! No sane music artist would den ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Reynisdrangar
Reynisdrangar () are basalt sea stacks situated under the mountain Reynisfjall near the village Vík í Mýrdal in southern Iceland. It is framed by a black sand beach that was ranked in 1991 as one of the ten most beautiful non-tropical beaches in the world. In 2021 Reynisfjara was rated the 6th best beach in the world. Legend Legend says that the stacks originated when two trolls dragged a three-masted ship to land unsuccessfully and when daylight broke they became needles of rock. Contemporary legends note the story of a husband who found his wife taken by the two trolls, frozen at night. The husband made the two trolls swear to never kill anyone ever again. His wife was the love of his life, whose free spirit he was unable to provide a home for; she found her fate out among the trolls, rocks, and sea at Reynisfjara.
