Marcial Calleja y Casitas (August 22, 1863 – May 5, 1914) was a Filipino lawyer who was elected as one of the representatives of Albay to the Malolos Congress. He was also elected assemblyman for the first district of Albay in the Second Philippine Assembly. Early life and education Calleja was born on August 22, 1863, in Malinao, Albay to Juan Calleja and Silvestre Casitas. He was the eldest of the three children. He studied in the Seminary of Nueva Caceres for his ''segunda enseñanza'' (secondary education), and later on took a course in philosophy from the same institution. Then, he enrolled in the University of Santo Tomas where he received a title in agronomy in 1885. He was already starting his career when he returned to study law in the same university, graduating with a degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1894. Marcial Gómez Parejo (Hinojosa del Duque, Province of Córdoba, Spain, 5 July 1930 - Córdoba, 1 June 2012) was an Andalusian painter and illustrator known for his imaginative work and magical realism In his artistics beginnings, between 1949 and 1953, he was influenced by the American comic artist Alex Raymond, creator of Flash Gordon. The panel, he said, began his connection with artistic expression. In the 1960s he began working for the textile industry in Barcelona, where he created series of gouache with influences of geometric constructivism, with plant motifs and other ornamental arts of Northern Europe and the Soviet Union, places he visited in this decade. Marcial Primitivo Fernandez Lichauco (November 27, 1902 – March 4, 1971) was a Filipino lawyer and diplomat. Career Lichauco was born to Faustino Lichauco (1870–1930), a member of Emilio Aguinaldo's Philippine Revolution, and Luisa Fernández y Arcinas (1873–1959). He studied at the American-established Central School in Manila, where he graduated as valedictorian. Lichauco then received his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in 1923 as the first Filipino graduate of Harvard College. He lived in Grays Hall during freshman year. He later studied at Harvard Law School and graduated in 1926. Lichauco traveled throughout the United States delivering speeches to promote the idea of Philippine independence. Marcial Maciel Degollado (March 10, 1920 – January 30, 2008) was a Mexican Catholic priest who founded the Legion of Christ and the Regnum Christi movement. He was general director of the Legion from 1941 to 2005. Throughout most of his career, he was respected within the church as "the greatest fundraiser of the modern Roman Catholic church" and as a prolific recruiter of new seminarians. Late in his life, Maciel was revealed to have been a longtime drug addict who sexually abused at least 60 boys and young men in his care. After his death, it came to light that he had also maintained sexual relationships with at least four women, one of whom was a minor at the time. He fathered as many as six children, two of whom he is alleged to have sexually abused. Marcial Samaniego López (born September 10, 1910; date of death uncertain) was a Paraguayan general, author, and government official. He served in President Alfredo Stroessner's government when Stroessner took office following a 1954 coup d'etat, and continued in various ministerial roles into the 1980s. Early life and education Samaniego was born in San Pedro Department, Paraguay, to Juan Alberto Samaniego and his wife, Maria de los Santos López. He entered the Paraguayan Army as a cadet in 1929 and trained as a military engineer. Career Samaniego served during the Chaco War and was later director of Paraguay's Francisco López Military College. He was one of Alfredo Stroessner's most loyal supporters and helped Stroessner overthrow the government during the 1954 coup d'etat.
