Marcellino D'Atri
Marcellino d'Atri (born Marcellino Canzani; 3 June 1659 – 12 February 1716) was a Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, Capuchin missionary from Atri, Abruzzo, Atri in the Kingdom of Naples who spent several years in the Kingdom of Kongo. His memoirs give much valuable information about the region around the end of the 17th century, although they betray the typical prejudices about Africans of a European at the time. Early years Marcellino Canzani was born on 3 June 1659 in Atri, Abruzzo, in the Kingdom of Naples, son of Giuseppe Canzani and Francesca Greco. He received a classical education in the local Society of Jesus, Jesuit college. He entered the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin on 14 October 1675. He was ordained a priest and at his request was licensed as a missionary on 5 April 1688 after his parents had died. Raffaele Marcellino (born 1964) is an Australian composer. Education Raffaele Marcellino graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with merit in 1985. His teachers included Richard Vella, Richard Toop, Gillian Whitehead, Martin Wesley-Smith and . Career In 1995 Marcellino joined the staff of the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music where he served as director from 1996 to 1998 and resumed teaching duties in 1999. In 1999 Arts Tasmania funded the Mountain Orchestra Project, a community arts project with Marcellino as composer and music director, and Strato Anagnostis as instrument maker and performer. The Mountain Orchestra was made up of community members who constructed instruments from found objects and other materials and then performed newly composed works in a concert on Mt Wellington in Hobart. San Marcellino, also known as Santi Marcellino e Pietro, is a Baroque architecture, Baroque-style, Roman Catholic church located on Via Ponchielli in Cremona, region of Lombardy, Italy. History and description The church was commissioned in 1602 by the Bishop Cesare Speciano from the architect Francesco Bigallo. The church and monastery were affiliated with the Jesuits, who completed the interiors. The facade remains incomplete, with monumental white marble corinthian pilasters and two niches in brick walls. In the second floor is a Serliana, Serlian window with a heraldic shield below. The interiors, in Baroque art, Baroque fashion, are elaborately ornamented with gilded stucco, and sport a number of lateral chapels. To the left of the entrance is a confessional with a canvas depicting a "Beatified Bishop" by Luigi Miradori. Marcellino Pipite is a ni-Vanuatu politician and former school administration, who was first elected to Parliament in 2004. He was the foreign minister of Vanuatu from November 2004 until December 2004, in the government of Serge Vohor. He was previously the minister for comprehensive reform.
