Marathi Abhimaangeet
Marathi Abhimaangeet is a song written in Marathi by the noted poet Suresh Bhat and set to music by well known composer Kaushal Inamdar. Introduction The composition is probably one of its kind with over 450 artistes having lent their voice. The song was released under the name ''Marathi Abhimaangeet'' in Thane on 27 February 2010, on the occasion of Marathi Bhasha Diwas. The ''Marathi Abhimaangeet'' has been sung by 112 established singers and a chorus of 356 upcoming singers. It has been recorded across 3 studios in Mumbai, Chennai and Thane with 12 sound engineers and 65 musicians. It is a very melodious composition which aims to reconcile every Marathi-speaking individual to the beauty of the language. Suresh Bhat
Suresh Bhat (15 April 1932 – 14 March 2003) was a Marathi poet from the state of Maharashtra, India. Personal life Bhat was born in a Karhade Brahmin family in Amravati, Maharashtra to Shridhar Bhat, a physician. His mother was fond of poetry and made young Bhat often read famous Marathi poems. He later acknowledged this practice to be a key influence in the development of his poetic abilities. He earned the B.A. degree in 1955. Poems comforted him as he battled bitterness and depression throughout his life finally accepting Atheism. After completing his education he took teaching jobs in rural areas of Amravati and continued writing poems. In 1964, he married Pushpa Mehendale, who hailed from Pune, but worked as teacher in Madhan, Amravati. He converted to Buddhism in presence of Bhante Surai Sasai and Bhau Lokhande. Ravindra Sathe (born 7 February 1951) is an Indian playback singer in Marathi film industry. He was the original cast and crew member of famous Marathi theatre play '' Ghashiram Kotwal''. He had been awarded Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer 10 times. Early life Sathe was born on 7 February 1951 in Pune, India, into a family of music lovers. Pandit Sanjeev Chimmalgi (born 29 July 1972) is an Indian music composer and Hindustani vocalist. He is a disciple of C. R. Vyas. His music reflects the voice culture of Kirana gharana as well as the bandish oriented singing of the Gwalior gharana/ Agra gharana. Background Chimmalgi was born in Mumbai to M.V. Shridhar S. Phadke (, born 9 September 1950) is a famous Marathi language music composer from Maharashtra, India. Early life Shridhar Phadke was born on 9 September 1950 in Mumbai. He is son of the famous Marathi singer and composer Sudhir Phadke and singer Lalitabai Phadke. He completed his education from D. G. Ruparel College of Arts Science and Commerce and later did his post graduation in Information Technology in United States of America in the decade of 1970. Later he joined Air India. Pandit Satyasheel Deshpande (born 9 January 1951) is a Hindustani classical musician who specialises in singing Khayal. He is a disciple of Pandit Kumar Gandharva and the son of musicologist Vamanrao Deshpande. Career Deshpande has been performing in music festivals and has also occasionally sung for Bollywood films.
