Manuel Bartlett Díaz
Manuel Bartlett Díaz (born 23 February 1936) is a Mexicans, Mexican politician, former director of the public energy company Comisión Federal de Electricidad, CFE, and former Secretariat of the Interior (Mexico), Secretary of the Interior. Bartlett was elected to the Senate of the Republic (Mexico), Senate of the Republic for the 2000–2006 term, where he became known as one of the most staunch defenders of state ownership of electric utilities. On May 27, 2006, in view of the low possibility of Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) candidate Roberto Madrazo winning the Presidency, Bartlett declared that he would vote for Andrés Manuel López Obrador, then candidate for the Party of the Democratic Revolution, to avoid a right-wing victory. Madrazo and the national leader of the PRI, Mariano Palacios, both condemned these declarations, and announced the possible expulsion of Bartlett from the party. Charles Clyde Bowden (July 20, 1945 – August 30, 2014) was an American non-fiction author, journalist and essayist based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was best known for his work documenting violence on the Mexico-United States border, especially in and around Ciudad Juarez. Early life and education Bowden was born on July 20, 1945, in Joliet, Illinois, and grew up first in Chicago and later in Tucson, Arizona. Mariano Palacios Alcocer (born May 27, 1952, in Santiago de Querétaro) is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). He is a former governor of Querétaro and has presided twice over the PRI. Mariano Palacios received a doctorate in law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1995; he also holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in law from the Autonomous University of Querétaro. The Party of the Democratic Revolution (, , PRD) is a state-level social democracy, social democratic political party in Mexico (previously national, until 2024). Roberto Madrazo Pintado (born July 30, 1952) is a Mexican politician and member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He was the candidate of the alliance between his party and the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM) in the 2006 Mexican presidential election. He served as Governor of Tabasco from 1995 to 2000.
