Manor House is the official residence of the President of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, located in Pomona, California. History Manor House was built in 1926, designed by famed Californian architect Myron Hunt, as a part of the larger Kellogg Ranch complex established by Will Keith Kellogg, founder of the Kellogg's cereal company. It was originally built for Kellogg's eldest son, Karl, who moved his family to California to manage his father's ranch. Myron Hunt
Myron Hubbard Hunt (February 27, 1868 – May 26, 1952) was an American architect whose numerous projects include many noted landmarks in Southern California and Evanston, Illinois. Hunt was elected a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects in 1908. Early life and education Hunt was born in Sunderland, Massachusetts, but his family later moved to Chicago where he graduated from Lake View High School in the city's Lakeview district. From 1888 to 1890 he attended Northwestern University, and then returned to Massachusetts to study at MIT between 1890 and 1893. He graduated with a B.S. in Architecture from MIT in 1893. After spending three years in Europe, he returned to Evanston where he obtained a position as draftsman in the local office of the Boston firm of Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge. Will Keith Kellogg (born William Keith Kellogg; April 7, 1860 – October 6, 1951) was an American industrialist in food manufacturing, who founded the Kellogg Company, which produces a wide variety of popular breakfast cereals. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and practiced vegetarianism as a dietary principle taught by his church. He also founded the Kellogg Arabian Ranch, which breeds Arabian horses.
