The ''Manitoulin Expositor'' is a Canadian weekly newspaper, published in Little Current, Ontario to serve residents of Manitoulin Island. Weekly newspaper is a general-news or Current affairs (news format), current affairs publication that is issued once or twice a week in a wide variety broadsheet, magazine, and electronic publishing, digital formats. Similarly, a biweekly newspaper is published once every two weeks. Weekly newspapers tend to have smaller circulations than daily newspapers, and often cover smaller territories, such as one or more smaller towns, a rural county, or a few neighborhoods in a large city. Little Current, Ontario
Little Current is a community in the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands, Ontario, Canada, in the northeast end of Manitoulin Island. It is located at the namesake narrow channel that connects the North Channel to the west with the Georgian Bay to the east. Its name refers to the currents that flow through the narrow passage that separates Manitoulin from Goat Island. History In the early 19th century, the location was an Anishinaabe settlement called Wewebijiwang, or known as Petit Courant by the Voyageurs. The site was regularly visited by traders from the Hudson's Bay Company trading post at La Cloche. Its convenient location along the North Channel allowed the Indigenous to trade with passing steamboats and provide accommodation to travellers. Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one's own death. Risk factors for suicide include mental disorders, physical disorders, and substance abuse. Gore Bay, Ontario
Gore Bay is a town on Manitoulin Island in Ontario, Canada. Located on the namesake Gore Bay, a bay of Lake Huron's North Channel (Ontario), North Channel, it is one of the two incorporated towns of Manitoulin District, of which it is the administrative and government seat. The town's name is believed to be referencing the gore-shaped harbour. Other theories for the namesake are probably for Francis Gore (1769–1852), Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada from 1806 to 1817, or after the steamer Gore (c. 1839 and scrapped 1861), which ran between Sault Ste.
