Manitoba Highway 9
Provincial Trunk Highway 9 (PTH 9) is a provincial primary highway located in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It runs from Winnipeg (where it meets with Route 52) north to Gimli. The highway is known as Main Street between Winnipeg and Selkirk, as this is the name of the road within both of those cities, and has a suburban character as a 4-lane, mostly undivided highway with numerous residences and businesses. At Selkirk, the highway turns off to bypass the city and becomes more of a rural highway. The bypass around Selkirk is known as the "Selkirk By-Pass". The road that runs through Selkirk is known as PTH 9A (Main Street also continues as PTH 9A, and then as PR 320 until PTH 4, where it becomes Breezy Point Road). Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure () is the provincial government department responsible for managing Public infrastructure, infrastructure in Manitoba. It is in charge of "the development of transportation policy and legislation, and [of] the management of the province’s vast infrastructure network." Manitoba Infrastructure was initially known as Public Works, which changed to Government Services in 1968, when the province expanded the department to include the provision of common services for other governmental departments. Originating at the confluence of the Bois de Sioux River, Bois de Sioux and Otter Tail River, Otter Tail rivers between the U.S. states of Minnesota and North Dakota, it flows northward through the Red River Valley, forming most of the border of Minnesota and North Dakota and continuing into Manitoba. Provincial Trunk Highway 44 (PTH 44) is an east-west provincial highway in the Eastman Region of the Canadian province of Manitoba. It begins at Highway 9 near Lockport, north of Winnipeg. The highway travels east through Beausejour before heading southeast in concurrency with Highway 11 for approximately and then continues southeast through Whiteshell Provincial Park. PTH 44 ends at the Trans-Canada Highway near the Ontario boundary. Provincial Road 410 (PR 410) is a short east–west highway in the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region of Manitoba. Located entirely within the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, it connects the communities of Rossdale and McDonald with the National Historic Sites of St. Andrews Rectory and St. Andrews on the Red. Route description PR 410 begins at an intersection with PR 230 (McPhillips Road) in Rossdale, heading southeast through farmland and rural areas to cross a railway before having an intersection with PTH 9 (Main Street) just south of McDonald.
