Maliaño is a village in the Municipalities of Spain, municipality of Camargo, Cantabria, Camargo (Cantabria, Spain). The town is located near the Bay of Santander, 5 km from the Santander (Cantabria), regional capital. It is the location of the regionally significant Santander Airport. The population in the year 2004 was 7,301 (Instituto Nacional de Estadística (España), INE) and it raised to 9,563 inhabitants in 2009. In 2012 9.657 inhabitants. Juan Carlos Arteche Gómez (11 April 1957 – 13 October 2010) was a Spanish footballer who played as a central defender. Juan De Herrera
Juan de Herrera (1530 – 15 January 1597) was a Spanish architect, mathematician and geometrician. One of the most outstanding Spanish architects in the 16th century, Herrera represents the peak of the Renaissance in Spain. His sober style reached full development in buildings like the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The '' Herrerian'' style was named after him, and was representative of the architecture of the Spanish Empire of Philip II and his Austrian successors. Santander Airport , officially Seve Ballesteros–Santander Airport, is an international airport near Santander, Cantabria, Santander, Spain and the only airport in Cantabria. In 2018 the airport handled 1,103,353 passengers and 11,258 flights, far more than in 1995 when it handled only 180,000 passengers. Since then, the traffic has declined following the trend in Spanish airports and the decrease in operations by some of the companies. Runway The airport has a single runway, runway 11/29, with a length of 2,420 m / 7,612 ft. Bolo Palma
Bolo palma is a variant of bowls that originated in and is played throughout the region of Cantabria, north of Spain. The basic aim of the game is to knock over as many pins as possible with a wooden ball. Records of the game go back as far as the 16th century.
