Izeh () ( Luri : مالمیر) is a city in the Central District of Izeh County, Khuzestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. Izeh has mines of rocks and minerals. It is famous for its dam and ancient monuments that are located in Kul-e Farah, Eshkaft-e Salman, Khongazhdar, Tagh e Tavileh, Shir-e Sangi (Stone Lion cemetery), Shahsavar relief, Khong e Kamalvand, Khong e Ajdar, Khong e Yaralivand, ghalesard village (Qalesard), and Sheyvand relief. Demographics Language The majority of the population in Izeh speaks the Bakhtiari dialect of the Luri language. Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 103,695 in 20,127 households. The following census in 2011 counted 117,093 people in 27,084 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 119,399 people in 30,066 households. Kul-e Farah
Kul-e Farah () (Henceforth KF) is an archaeological site and open-air sanctuary situated in the Zagros Mountains, Zagros mountain valley of Izeh/Mālamir, in south-western Iran, around 800 meters over sea level. Six Elamite rock reliefs are located in a small gorge marked by a seasonal creek bed on the plain's east side of the valley, near the town of Izeh in Khuzestan. History of scholarship The earliest reference to the existence of the reliefs  was made in 1836 by Sir Henry Rawlinson, 1st Baronet, H.C. Rawlinson (1839) followed by A. Austen Henry Layard, H. Layard (1846) whose work included a preliminary account of the Cuneiform, cuneiform inscriptions. A complete bibliography was written by Eric De Waele (1976a: 5-8). Luri Language
Luri (, ) is a Southwestern Iranian language continuum spoken by the Lurs, an Iranian people native to West Asia. The Luri dialects are descended from Middle Persian and are Central Luri, Bakhtiari,G. R. Fazel, 'Lur', in Muslim Peoples: A World Ethnographic Survey, ed. R. V. Weekes (Westport, 1984), pp. 446–447 and Southern Luri. Seyed Ali Salehi (born April 1954 in Khuzestan Province, Khuzestan) is a contemporary Iranian poetry, Iranian poet and writer. He is one of the founders of the Pure Wave movement and the founder of speech poetry and meta-speech poetry in contemporary Iranian poetry. Ali Landi
Ali Landi (Martyr Ali Landi) (, March 4, 2007, in Izeh – September 23, 2021, in Isfahan), was a fourteen-year-old Iranian teenager who died of a severe burn which he suffered when trying to rescue two elderly women from a building fire. Safdar Hosseini
Safdar Hosseini (; born 1954) is an Iranian academic and politician, who has served in various cabinet posts. He was chairman of the National Development Fund of Iran from 2013 until 2016. Behrouz Jamshidi (; born August 23, 1972, in (Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province) is a retired amateur Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's light heavyweight category.
