Magnús Ver Magnússon Strongman Classic
Magnús Ver Magnússon Strongman Classic is a strongman competition run and hosted by four-times World's Strongest Man champion Magnús Ver Magnússon. Since its inception in 2021, the competition has been held every November, outdoors with the athletes being succumbed to cold Icelandic weather. The competition in known for the athletes to lift both vintage, traditional implements including natural stones as well as more contemporary events. Some of the frequently recurring events include Húsafell Stone carry around the original pen, natural stone press, natural stone to shoulder and natural stone loading. Mateusz Kieliszkowski (born 12 August 1993) is a Polish strongman competitor, notable for winning the 2019 World's Ultimate Strongman competition. World's Strongest Man
The World's Strongest Man is an international strongman competition held every year. Organized by American event management company IMG, a subsidiary of Endeavor, it is broadcast in the US during summers and in the UK around the end of December each year. Competitors qualify based on placing in the top three at the four to eight Giants Live events each year. The current event sponsor is SBD Apparel. The competition has been won by 25 men representing 14 nationalities. Three of the champions have been inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame. Magnús Ver Magnússon
Magnús Ver Magnússon (born 23 April 1963) is an Icelandic former powerlifter and strongman competitor. He is a four-time World's Strongest Man, having won in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest strongmen of all time. Career Powerlifting Magnús began powerlifting in 1984. In 1985, he won a medal in the junior European and World Championships. He won the Senior European title in the 125 kg (276 lb) class in 1988 and 1990. Húsafell Stone
The Húsafell Stone is a legendary lifting stone weighing 186 kg (410 lb) located in a west country farming estate in Húsafell, Iceland about northeast of Reykjavík. The slightly triangular, slab shaped stone is kept at a Pen (enclosure), sheep and goat pen built from natural stones by Reverend Snorri Björnsson around 1756, and was made famous by the legend of his daughter Guðný Snorradóttir carrying it. The stone has been used as a test of physical strength by either simply lifting the stone, or by lifting and carrying it around the sheep and goat pen. Maxime Boudreault
Maxime Boudreault (born 21 September 1991) is a Canadian professional strongman competitor from Kapuskasing, Ontario. He secured 3rd place in the 2021 World's Strongest Man competition in Sacramento, California, won the inaugural 'Magnús Ver Magnússon Strongman Classic' competition in 2021 in Iceland, and won the 2022 Canada's Strongest Man competition. Eyþór Ingólfsson Melsteð (transliterated as Eythor Ingolfsson Melsted in English, born 16 February 1994) is an Icelandic professional strongman from Reykjavík and a multiple entrant to the World's Strongest Man competition. Tristain Hoath (born 29 October 1991) is a Canadian Strongman from Saskatoon. Hoath started his career in 2021 with Canada's Strongest Man. Mika Törrö
Mika Törrö (born 11 May 1979) is a Finnish Strongman from Joensuu and a 5 x times Finland's Strongest Man champion. Törrö had a difficult upbringing early in his life, suffering from ADHD, BPD and was imprisoned for over a decade. Through strength training he managed to change his ways and eventually got an opportunity to join Strongman Champions League. Ensuing years, he won three silver medals and six bronze medals and became a regular contestant in the international circuit.
