Universal Studios Singapore (abbreviation: USS) is a theme park located within the Resorts World Sentosa integrated resort at Sentosa in Singapore. It features 24 Theme park#Rides and attractions, rides, shows, and Theme park#Rides and attractions, attractions in seven themed zones. It is one of the five Universal Destinations & Experiences, Universal Studios theme parks around the world. It was a key component of the Genting Singapore's bid for the right to build Singapore's second integrated resort (IR). On 8 December 2006, the Singapore government announced that the consortium had won the bid. Construction of the theme park and the rest of the resort started on 19 April 2007. Resorts World Sentosa (abbreviation: RWS) is an integrated resort on the island of Sentosa, which is located off the southern coast of Singapore. The key attractions within RWS include one of Singapore's two casinos, Universal Studios Singapore theme park (which is the second Universal Studios theme park in Asia after Universal Studios Japan and the first in Southeast Asia) the Marine Life Park#Adventure Cove Waterpark, Adventure Cove Waterpark, as well as the Marine Life Park, S.E.A. ''Sesame Street'' Spaghetti Space Chase is a dark ride in the New York section of Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa. It officially opened on 1 March 2013. History During the early planning phases of Universal Studios Singapore, park officials wanted to have a ''Sesame Street'' attraction. However, this plan was sidelined in favour of attractions with more marketing power. In late 2009 and early 2010 when full details of Universal Studios Singapore were released, the park planned to have an attraction entitled ''Stage 28''. It was set to be a walkthrough located in the New York zone of the park that showcased some of Universal Studios' feature films and props. Universal's Halloween Horror Nights is an annual Halloween-themed event at Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Japan and Singapore.
