Magali Lara
Magali Lara (born November 5, 1956, Mexico City) is a Mexican contemporary artist. Her works are presented in collections such as the Mexican Art Gallery, the Carrillo Gil Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Bank of Mexico, the University Museum of Contemporary Art (UNAM) and the UDLAP Art Collection. She is considered a leading figure in the feminist contribution of the Mexican contemporary art movement. Lara has produced works as both an essayist and a visual artist. In her autobiographical writing, she describes her work as follows: Biography From 1976 to 1980, Lara studied Visual Arts at the National School of Plastic Arts, San Carlos. In 2011, she obtained a master's degree from the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos where she is a professor; she coordinates programs and content for the Painting Section of the Faculty of Visual Arts. The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) was founded by Dr. Robert Gumbiner in 1996 in Long Beach, California, United States and serves the greater Los Angeles area. José Luis Cuevas Museum
The José Luis Cuevas Museum is located just off the Zócalo within the Historic center of Mexico City, in Mexico City, Mexico. The museum and Church of Santa Inés were built as parts of the Convent of Santa Inés (''Agnes of Rome'') complex. The museum is in the convent's colonial era residential hall. Javier Torres Maldonado (born 1968) is a Mexican composer internationally recognized for, mostly, his orchestral, chamber, vocal and electro-acoustic works. Biography Born in Chetumal (Mexico), José Javier Torres Maldonado studied violin and composition at the Mexico City Conservatory and later, invited by Franco Donatoni, composition at the “G. Amparo Museum
The Museo Amparo, located in the historic center of Puebla City, is one of the most important historical museums in Mexico. It was inaugurated in 1991 and sponsored by the Amparo Foundation, which was founded in 1979 by Manuel Espinoza Yglesias in honor of his wife. The museum is housed in two colonial-era buildings that date from the 17th and 18th centuries, which were popularly known as the Hospitalario. One of the buildings was the Hospital de Nuestra Señora y San Juan de Letrán founded in 1534. This building was made into a college for women by Bishop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza in the middle of the 18th century, and remained so until the 20th century.
