Madcon is a Norwegian musical duo formed in 1992 by Yosef Wolde-Mariam and Tshawe Baqwa. They have released eight albums as of 2018, and became known for their 2007 cover of the 1967 song "Beggin'" by The Four Seasons. They took their name from the phrase "mad conspiracy". Members Yosef Wolde-Mariam Yosef Wolde-Mariam (born August 4, 1978) is an Ethiopian-Norwegian TV presenter and rapper. His parents were from Ethiopia and Eritrea. Wolde-Mariam grew up in Grefsen, Norway with his mother, moving many times, living in Røyken, Grønland, Grünerløkka, and Bekkelaget. Beggin'
"Beggin" is a song composed by Bob Gaudio and Peggy Farina and first released as a single by American band the Four Seasons in 1967. Initially charting at number 16 in the US Billboard Chart, the song became popular in the Northern soul scene in the United Kingdom in the 1970s. It has been covered multiple times, with versions by Norwegian hip-hop duo Madcon and Italian rock band Måneskin topping music charts in Europe and beyond. The Four Seasons' version was remixed in 2007 by French DJ Pilooski and re-released as a single, reaching number 32 in the UK Singles Chart, commercially outperforming the band's original release in the UK. The Four Seasons is an American band formed in 1960 in Newark, New Jersey. Since 1970, they have also been known at times as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. They are one of the List of best-selling music artists, best-selling musical groups of all time, having sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Grefsen was a part of the municipality of Aker, Norway, Aker before the Second World War, later incorporated into Oslo. ''Skal vi danse'' () is a Norwegian television series which has been broadcast on TV 2 and produced by Monster Entertainment since 2006. The series sees celebrities partner with professional dancers to compete in mainly ballroom and Latin dance. The pairs each week compete by performing one or more choreographed routines that usually revolve around a prearranged theme for that particular week. Each pair is then scored by a panel of judges and the viewers. The viewers are given a short time to place votes for their favourite pairs, usually online. Once all the votes have been added up, the pair with the lowest combined score is eliminated. This process continues until there are only two pairs left, who will compete against each other in a final before one is crowned the winner. ''The Voice'' is an international reality television singing competition franchise originally created by Dutch producer John de Mol Jr. and Dutch singer Roel van Velzen. It has become a rival to the '' Idol'' franchise, '' The Four'', '' Rising Star'' and ''The X Factor''. The owner of the franchise was Talpa Network up until 2020 and ITV Studios ever since.
