Mark Jayven "Mac" Tallo (born January 2, 1994) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Pangasinan Heatwaves franchise of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and Pilipinas Super League (PSL). Career First PBA stint Tallo started his professional career with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA, having been selected 10th overall by TNT KaTropa in the 2017 PBA draft. but later played for the NLEX Road Warriors. First MPBL stint Tallo has played in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) specifically for the Bacolod Master Sardines, Manila Stars, and the Bicol Volcanoes. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Generally, point guards are expected to be proficient in passing the ball and being able to get Assist (basketball), assists to teammates. 2024 MPBL Season
The 2024 MPBL season was the sixth season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and its third under professional status. The regular season began on April 6, 2024 with the opening ceremonies at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Calasiao, Pangasinan, and ended on October 1. The 2024 MPBL All-Star Game was held at the Mayor Vitaliano D. Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City on September 7. The playoffs began on October 5 and ended on December 7 with the 2024 MPBL finals between the Pampanga Giant Lanterns and Quezon Huskers. In Philippine sports, mostly in basketball, ligang labas () is a Tagalog language term for playing in a sports league other than where a player's team is primarily playing. It is also a description used by former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players on the leagues that they've played at after leaving the PBA. Although playing ''ligang labas'' allows players to continue pursuing their careers, they may also be subject to penalties if the player is still under contract with another team, including a ban from playing in the PBA. 2023–24 PBA Season
The 2023–24 PBA season (or PBA season 48) was the 48th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Due to the participation of Philippine men's national basketball team in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and 2022 Asian Games, the PBA season started on November 5, 2023 and would only have two conferences, first being the Commissioner's Cup, followed by the season-ending Philippine Cup. Opening day was originally scheduled on October 15, but was moved three weeks past the original date to give the players who participated in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2022 Asian Games time to rest and recover. Chooks-to-Go 3x3 Pro Circuit Teams
Since the inception of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 league in 2019 which is backed by Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI), multiple 3x3 team under the sponsorship of BAVI has been sent to the FIBA 3x3 Men's Pro Circuit which usually consists of the core of the winning team in a conference or tournament. A total of three teams under the Chooks-to-Go name participated in level 10 (Masters) competitions of the FIBA 3x3 Men's Pro Circuit namely; Pasig Chooks, Balanga Chooks, and Manila Chooks TM; all three has featured in a FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters tournament, although none has qualified in a World Tour Finals.
