McBriare Samuel Lanyon DeMarco (born Vernor Winfield McBriare Smith IV; April 21, 1990) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has released five full-length studio albums: his debut '' 2'' (2012), '' Salad Days'' (2014), '' This Old Dog'' (2017), '' Here Comes the Cowboy'' (2019), and '' Five Easy Hot Dogs'' (2023). He additionally released the mini-albums '' Rock and Roll Night Club'' in 2012 and '' Another One'' in 2015, as well as the compilation album '' One Wayne G'' in 2023. In addition to those albums are his singles, and all of his albums (excluding Five Easy Hot Dogs and One Wayne G) have had demo albums released after them. His style of music has been described as "blue wave" and slacker rock, or, by DeMarco himself, "jizz jazz". Duncan is a city on southern Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley Regional District, British Columbia, Canada. It is the smallest city in Canada by area. It was incorporated as a city in 1912. Location The city is about 45 kilometres from both Victoria, British Columbia, Victoria to the south and Nanaimo to the north. ''Five Easy Hot Dogs'' is the fifth studio album by Canadian musician Mac DeMarco. A departure from the previous studio albums in DeMarco's discography, the album is entirely instrumental and was recorded during a road trip from Los Angeles to New York. It was announced on January 4, 2023, and released on January 20. Background DeMarco recorded the album in 2022 during a road trip from Los Angeles and New York. During the road trip, he stopped smoking and drinking, which he said was "pretty fucking difficult". He booked multiple hotels during the trip, in which he stayed and recorded the songs in. For recording equipment, he used a Lynx Aurora interface, eight API 312 preamps, dynamic microphones, a old Neumann U47, and two Genelec monitors. Vernor Smith
Vernor Winfield Smith (February 17, 1864 – July 19, 1932) was a politician in Alberta, Canada who served as the province's Minister of Railways and Telephones from 1921 until 1932. Born in 1864 in Prince Edward Island, he moved to British Columbia in 1883 where he worked for several railway companies as an accountant. In 1915 he moved to Camrose, Alberta to become a farmer. The same year, he married Lily Bury, with whom he would have five children. Smith contested the 1921 provincial election in the riding of Camrose for the United Farmers of Alberta (UFA), where he received 56% of the vote and defeated incumbent Liberal George P. Smith. ''One Wayne G'' is the first compilation album by Canadian musician Mac DeMarco, self-released on April 21, 2023. The album comprises 199 mostly instrumental tracks lasting nearly nine hours, making it the longest studio album by DeMarco. A number of the songs had been heard before in online live streams. Background The album was initially released online only, with no prior announcement. A post on the Instagram account for Mac's Record Label indicated a cut-down LP record and cassette release would be forthcoming. However, DeMarco later confirmed images of the physical media were mock-ups created for a joke, and the album would remain digital-only. However, a Blu-ray of the album was eventually released in late 2023. He chose to release the tracks as one long album in order to chart his evolution as an artist over a five-year span, and to document his need to continuously write and record new music.
