Hartland MacDougall
Hartland Brydges MacDougall (March 10, 1876 – April 28, 1947) was a Canadian ice hockey player and businessman. MacDougall was generally regarded as one of the most versatile players of the pre-NHL era of the sport. He initially played the position of goaltender but ended his career playing point. After hockey, he became a stockbroker and was one of the partners of MacDougall, MacDougall and MacTier, a prominent investment firm in Montreal. In 1976 he was made an honoured member of the Canada Sports Hall of Fame. Ranald MacDougall (March 10, 1915 – December 12, 1973) was an American screenwriter who scripted such films as '' Mildred Pierce'' (1945), '' The Unsuspected'' (1947), '' June Bride'' (1948), and ''The Naked Jungle'' (1954), and shared screenwriting credit for 1963's ''Cleopatra''. Lieutenant Peter Aitken MacDougall (or McDougal) (11 August 1898 – 18 August 1955) was a Scottish World War I flying ace credited with seven aerial victories. Biography MacDougall was born in Lerwick, the son of Major Peter MacDougall, a schoolmaster at the Central Public School, and his wife Florence. After leaving school he worked for the Union Bank of Scotland, before joining the Royal Flying Corps as a cadet in 1917, and being commissioned as a temporary second lieutenant (on probation) on 21 June. General Sir Patrick Leonard MacDougall, (10 August 1819 – 28 November 1894) was a British Army officer who became Commander of the British Troops in Canada. Military career MacDougall was born the only son of Lieutenant Colonel Sir Duncan MacDougall (1787–1862) and Anne, daughter of Colonel Cornelius Smelt (1748–1832), Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man. Educated at a military academy in Edinburgh, then the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the 79th Regiment of Foot, (Cameronian Highlanders) in 1836. John Lorne MacDougall (18 November 1898 – 6 June 1956) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. MacDougall was born in Tiverton, Ontario, moved to Saskatchewan in childhood, then studied dentistry at Toronto's Ontario Dental College. He fought in World War I in the same army unit as fellow House of Commons member John Diefenbaker. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 – February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s.
