Mabe (variant: ''La Vabe'', kw, Lannvab) is a village and civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated one mile (1.6 km) west of Penryn. Mabe parish is bounded by Stithians and Ponsanooth to the north, Budock to the east, Mawnan and Constantine to the south and Wendron to the west. Mabe parish is twinned with the Breton town of Primelin. Tom Mabe is an American comedian, YouTuber, prankster, and jingle writer. Career Mabe, based in Louisville, Kentucky, achieved notability with his prank responses to telemarketing calls. Upon receiving an unsolicited call, Mabe would engage telemarketers in an unexpected and often uncomfortable conversation while recording the incident. One of his best known pranks of this genre involved convincing a telemarketer that he had inadvertently called the scene of a homicide. Dissection was a Swedish extreme metal band from Strömstad, formed in 1989 by guitarist, vocalist and main songwriter Jon Nödtveidt and bassist Peter Palmdahl. Despite a number of lineup changes, Dissection released '' The Somberlain'' in 1993 and '' Storm of the Light's Bane'' in 1995, before splitting up in 1997 due to Nödtveidt's imprisonment for complicity in the murder of Josef Meddour. After his release, Nödtveidt reformed the band in 2004 with new members who he felt could "stand behind and live up to the demands of Dissection's Satanic concept." They released their third and final full-length album ''Reinkaos'' in April 2006, before disbanding that June. Nödtveidt said he had "reached the limitations of music as a tool for expressing what I want to express, for myself and the handful of others that I care about." Mabe is a company which designs, produces, and distributes appliances to more than 70 countries around the world founded in Mexico City in 1946. History Mabe was incorporated in Mexico City in 1946 by Egon Mabardi and Francisco Berrondo, both Spanish refugees who escaped the turmoil of the Spanish Civil War, to manufacture kitchen furniture. In the 1950s, Mabe began manufacturing various appliances such as gas ranges and refrigerators. In 1986, Mabe entered into a joint venture with General Electric to produce appliances for the US market where GE received a 48% minority stake. By the mid-1990s, more than two-thirds of all gas ranges and refrigerators imported into the United States were designed and manufactured by Mabe, and 95% of those sold under the General Electric brands were designed in Mabe's San Luis Potosi plant.
