MAX (Calgary)
MAX is a bus rapid transit network operated by Calgary Transit in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. MAX forms a part of Calgary Transit's rapid transit network, along with the CTrain light rail system. The MAX system opened in November 2018 with three routes: MAX Orange, MAX Teal, and MAX Purple. The MAX Yellow line opened in December 2019. MAX routes are distinguished from Calgary's existing express bus network, branded as "BRT", by the use of dedicated transitway on three lines, heated shelters, real-time information, and elevated sidewalks. CTrain
CTrain (previously branded C-Train) is a light rail system in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Much of the system functions as a high-capacity light metro, while in the downtown free-fare zone, trains run like a modern tram with a dedicated right-of-way. This subway-surface alignment is known as semi-metro. The CTrain began operation on May 25, 1981, and has expanded as the city has increased in population. Brentwood Station is a Calgary C-Train light rail station on the Red Line, between University Station southbound and Dalhousie Station northbound. The station is located in the middle of Crowchild Trail, wedged between the communities of Brentwood to the north, and Varsity to the south. Saddletowne Station
Saddletowne Station is a CTrain light rail station on the Northeast leg of the Blue Line located in Saddle Ridge, Calgary, Alberta. Opened on August 27, 2012, as part of a 2.9-km extension. It is the current terminus of the N.E. line and is located in the northwest corner of Saddletowne Circle N.E., a large roundabout where the ''Saddleridge Town Centre'' a commercial and activity centre, with planned medium-density residential development and community facilities. The station has a Park and Ride with a 141-stall capacity. The station is a center-loading, walk-on island platform. Construction on the extension started in the spring of 2010 and completed, for its grand opening block party, on August 25, 2012. Westbrook Station (Calgary)
Westbrook station is the third station on the West LRT line of the CTrain light rail system in Calgary, Alberta. The station, along with the rest of the line, opened on December 10, 2012. However, on December 8, 2012, it was opened as a preview for the public to use. It is located in the neighbourhood of Rosscarrock, in the Sunalta, Calgary, Southwest quadrant of Calgary. The station is located underground beside 33 Street SW between Bow Trail and 17 Avenue SW, 4 km from the 7 Avenue & 9 Street SW Interlocking. The station, along with associated office block above it, occupies the site of the former Ernest Manning High School, which closed in June 2011, and a former Petro-Canada service station that closed in 2009. Douglasdale is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. 14 Street W is the name of two major arterial roads and a short collector road in Calgary, Alberta, separated by the Elbow River and the West Nose Creek valley. Originally proposed as a continuous route and north-south freeway, the plans were cancelled in favor of 24 Street W, which became Crowchild Trail.
