Lucy Montgomery (actor)
Lucy Montgomery (born 24 January 1975) is a British actress, comedian and writer. Career While at Jesus College, Cambridge, Montgomery was a member of the Footlights, its amateur theatrical club. Subsequently, she studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Montgomery built her career as one third of Comedy Theatre Company Population 3, along with James Bachman and Barunka O'Shaughnessy, and she appeared as a roving reporter for the comic television programme ''The Friday Night Project''. Other television work has included ''Bo' Selecta!'', ''The Mighty Boosh'', and ''The IT Crowd''. Anne Of Green Gables
''Anne of Green Gables'' is a 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery (published as L. M. Montgomery). Written for all ages, it has been considered a classic children's novel since the mid-20th century. Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl, who is sent by mistake to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had originally intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in the fictional town of Avonlea in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The novel recounts how Anne makes her way through life with the Cuthberts, in school, and within the town. Since its publication, ''Anne of Green Gables'' has been translated into at least 36 languages and has sold more than 50 million copies, making it one of the best-selling books worldwide. ''Down the Line'' is a British radio comedy broadcast on BBC Radio 4, which satirises popular radio phone-in shows. The show, hosted by "Gary Bellamy" ( Rhys Thomas), is semi-improvised and is written and performed in a style of heightened realism. ''Down the Line'' was first broadcast in May 2006. The pre-show publicity did not indicate that the show was a pre-recorded comedy, describing it as a live phone-in featuring "award winning" DJ Gary Bellamy, and led to many complaints from listeners who apparently failed to spot it was a spoof, generating considerable publicity for the programme. It was subsequently revealed that the show is written and performed by several familiar figures in British comedy, including Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson. ''The Armstrong & Miller Show'' is a British sketch comedy television show produced by Hat Trick Productions for BBC One. It features the double act Armstrong and Miller and a number of notable scriptwriters including Andy Hamilton, co-creator of '' Outnumbered'', and Jeremy Dyson, co-creator of ''The League of Gentlemen''. It ran for three series between 2007 and 2010 and was nominated for two BAFTAs, winning one. The series followed on from ''Armstrong and Miller'' on the Paramount Comedy Channel and Channel 4 between 1997 and 2001. Deborah Chazen (born 1 September 1971) is an English actress. She is best known for portraying Annie in the BBC comedy ''The Smoking Room'', Big Claire in ''Mine All Mine'', and various roles in the BBC sketch show ''Tittybangbang''. Alongside these appearances, Chazen has had recurring roles on ''Trollied '' and ''Holby City''. Early life Chazen was born in Hammersmith, London. After graduating from Manchester University in 1992 with a degree in Russian Studies, she trained at LAMDA. Sketch comedy comprises a series of short, amusing scenes or vignettes, called "sketches", commonly between one and ten minutes long, performed by a group of comic actors or comedians. BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. "Lost Souls" is an original BBC Radio 4 audio play written by Joseph Lidster and is a spin-off from the British science fiction television series ''Torchwood'', itself a spin-off from '' Doctor Who''. It aired on 10 September 2008 in the Afternoon Play slot as part of Radio 4's ''Big Bang Day'' which celebrated the switching on of CERN's Large Hadron Collider that same day.
