Liz Howard
Elizabeth Howard (Éilís Níc Iomhair) is an Irish camogie player who was the 27th President of the Camogie Association. Background Howard, from Deerpark, Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, is the daughter of Limerick hurler, Garrett Howard, and Josephine (née Barry) from Newtown, Nenagh. Garrett won five All Ireland medals and was awarded the Bank of Ireland All Time All Star Award. Under the guidance of her parents, she and her sisters started a Camogie club in Feakle, Co. Clare. Career During the Presidency of Miriam O'Callaghan, Howard, Sile Wallace, Jo Golden, and Sinead O'Connor developed the Strategic Plan 2004–2008; this was the template to grow and develop Camogie. Joan O'Flynn
Joan O'Flynn (Siobhán Ní Fhloinn) was the 28th president of the Camogie Association. Background She was the daughter of GAA administrator Seamus Ó Floinn. She is a graduate of University College Cork (BA 1983) and University College Dublin (Masters in Equality Studies (1998). Playing career Her playing career stretched across three counties. The Camogie Association ( ga, An Cumann Camógaíochta, formerly ga, Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael) organises and promotes the sport of camogie in Ireland and around the world. The association has close ties with the Gaelic Athletic Association, but is still a separate organisation. Carrick-on-Suir
Carrick-on-Suir () is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland. It lies on both banks of the River Suir. The part on the north bank of the Suir lies in the civil parish of "Carrick", in the historical barony of Iffa and Offa East. The part on the south bank lies in the civil parish of Kilmolerin in the barony of Upperthird, County Waterford. Garrett Howard
Garrett Howard (10 December 1899 – 20 January 1995) was an Irish hurler who played as a left wing-back for the Limerick, Dublin and Tipperary senior teams. Born in Patrickswell, County Limerick, Howard first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-one when he first linked up with the Limerick senior team, before later lining out with the Dublin and Tipperary sides before returning to the Limerick colours. He made his senior debut in the 1921 championship. Howard went on to enjoy a fifteen-year inter-county career, and won five All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals, three Leinster medals and four National Hurling League medals. Newbridge, County Kildare
Newbridge, officially known by its Irish name Droichead Nua (), is a town in County Kildare, Ireland. While the nearby Great Connell Priory was founded in the 13th century, the town itself formed from the 18th century onwards, and grew rapidly alongside a military barracks which opened in the early 19th century. Ger Loughnane
Gerard "Ger" Loughnane (born 27 January 1953) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a right wing-back for the Clare senior team. Born in Feakle, County Clare, Loughnane first played competitive hurling whilst at school in St. Flannan's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Clare minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 1972-73 National Hurling League. Loughnane immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won two National Hurling League medals. He was a Munster runner-up on five occasions. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team at various times throughout his career, Loughnane won three Railway Cup medals.
