''Star Trek'' is an American media franchise based on the science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry. The first television series, simply called ''Star Trek'' and now referred to as ''The Original Series'', debuted in 1966 and aired for three seasons on NBC. The ''Star Trek'' canon includes the original series, seven spin-off television series, three animated series, and thirteen films. William Shatner (born March 22, 1931) is a Canadian actor. In a career spanning seven decades, he is best known for his portrayal of James T. ''The Final Frontier'' is the fifteenth studio album by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden.
