Shopping Mall
A shopping mall (or simply mall) is a North American term for a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores. The term "mall" originally meant a pedestrian promenade with shops along it (that is, the term was used to refer to the walkway itself which was merely bordered by such shops), but in the late 1960s, it began to be used as a generic term for the large enclosed shopping centers that were becoming commonplace at the time. In the U.K., such complexes are considered shopping centres (Commonwealth English: shopping centre), though "shopping center" covers many more sizes and types of centers than the North American "mall". The Bellavita Shopping Center () is a luxury shopping mall in Xinyi Special District, Taipei, Taiwan that opened on September 21, 2009. It is rated amongst the top luxury malls in Asia. History Bellavita Shopping Center, which costs about NT$9 billion and took 5 years to build, was completed and opened in 2009. Nanjing Road (; also called 7th Blvd) is a major arterial in Taipei, Taiwan, connecting the Datong district in the west with the Zhongshan and Songshan districts in the east. Nanjing Road is known for heavy traffic channeling from the MacAuthur Bridge into central Taipei. There are bus lanes and platforms in the middle of the roadway to facilitate transit on the roadway. Breeze Song Gao () is a shopping mall in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan that opened on 24 October 2014. Located within walking distance of Taipei City Hall metro station, Breeze Song Gao has a total floor area of , with business floors ranging from four floors above ground to two floors below ground.
