Mikaele Kulimoetoke (born 17 June 1963) is a Wallisian politician and member of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna. He was president of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna from 2014 to 2017. He has represented Wallis and Futuna in the Senate of France since 2020. Kulimoetoke is grandson of King Tomasi Kulimoetoke II. Before entering politics he worked as a police officer. He was first elected to the Territorial Assembly in the 2012 Wallis and Futuna Territorial Assembly election, representing the Hahake District. He was elected vice-president of the assembly. He subsequently ran for the French National Assembly in the 2012 French legislative election, but lost narrowly to David Vergé in the second round. After the election result was annulled, he contested the 2013 by-election, but was defeated by Napole Polutele. Robert Laufoaulu (born 7 July 1947) is a Wallisian politician. He represented Wallis and Futuna in the Senate of France from 1998 to 2020. A teacher by profession, Laufoaulu was first elected to the Senate in 1998. He was not one of the six candidates in the first round, who all sat in the territorial assembly, but was nominated for the second round by the alliance of parties opposed to candidate Kamilo Gata , former deputy for Wallis-and-Futuna. He won the second round by 14 votes to 7. He was re-elected in the first round in the Senatorial elections of 2008 and 2014. Basile Tui is a politician who was the leader of the Centrist Union group and was the third senator of Wallis and Futuna. Maastricht Treaty Basile opposed of the Maastricht Treaty.
