This is a list of some of the mountains in the U.S. state of Massachusetts, including those in the mountain range known as the Berkshires. Mount Greylock is the highest point in the state at 3,491 feet (1,064 m) in elevation. As such, no mountains in Massachusetts are recognized by the Appalachian Mountain Club in its list of Four-thousand footers — a list of New England peaks over 4,000 feet with a minimum 200 feet of topographic prominence. A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock. Mount Everett
Mount Everett at 2,608 ft - or 793.1 m - is the highest peak in the south Taconic Mountains. Everett rises nearly 2,000 feet in about a mile from its eastern footings around Sheffield, Mass., and is known for its expansive views; for scrubby old-growth vegetation (pitch pine and scrub oak) on its upper reaches and for the Appalachian Trail's north-south traverse of the mountain. Prior to the 20th Century, Mount Everett was also called Mt. Taughanuk and Dome of the Taconics. Alander Mountain
Alander Mountain is a prominent peak of the south Taconic Mountains; it is located in southwest Massachusetts and adjacent New York. Part of the summit is grassy and open and part is covered with scrub oak and shrubs; the sides of the mountain are wooded with northern hardwood tree species. Views from the top include the southern Taconic Mountains, the Hudson River Valley including the Catskills. Several trails traverse Alander Mountain, most notably the South Taconic Trail, which passes just beneath the summit. Much of the mountain is located within Taconic State Park and Mount Washington State Forest; other parcels have been conserved by non-profit organizations. Poppy Mountain, , sometimes identified as Pease Ridge, its northwest descending crest, is a prominent peak in the Taconic Mountains of western Massachusetts. The mountain is located in Pittsfield State Forest and is traversed by the Taconic Crest hiking trail. The overgrown summit is wooded with northern hardwood forest species. Honwee Mountain
Honwee Mountain, east summit and west summit , is a prominent mountain in the Taconic Mountains of western Massachusetts. The mountain is located in Pittsfield State Forest. The east (highest) summit is traversed by the Honwee Circuit multi-use trail. The west summit is crossed by the Taconic Crest hiking trail and the multi-use Taconic Skyline Trail. The mountain is wooded with northern hardwood forest species. The east peak of Honwee mountain is located within the town of Lanesborough and the west peak in the town of Hancock. Mount Race, , is a prominent peak in the south Taconic Mountains of Massachusetts. The mountain is known for its waterfalls, steep, eastern ridgeline cliff face and expansive views of the Housatonic River valley and Berkshires to the east and of fellow Taconics to the south, west and north and Catskills and Hudson River valley to the west, for the traverse of the said cliffline and the summit grounds by the Appalachian Trail and for its old growth pitch pine and scrub oak summit ecosystem. Jiminy Peak (ski Area)
Jiminy Peak is a mid-sized alpine ski resort in the northeastern United States, located in western Massachusetts in the Taconic Mountains at Hancock, northwest of nearby Pittsfield. The summit of Jiminy Peak, which includes the Hendricks Summit Lodge, is located in Lanesborough. The mountain is owned by Och-Ziff Capital Management but the operating company is owned and managed by Brian Fairbank, the longtime former owner of the Resort. Potter Mountain (Taconic Mountains)
Potter Mountain is a prominent ridgeline located in the Taconic Mountains of western Massachusetts. It has several peaks; the most notable are the southern Jiminy Peak, , which bears the name of the ski area located on its slopes, and Widow White's Peak, , the ridge high point. The mountain is located in the towns of Hancock and Lanesborough. It was formerly traversed by the Taconic Skyline Trail which no longer officially crosses the ridge.
