Paul Girvan (judge)
Sir Frederick Paul Girvan PC (born 20 October 1948) is a retired Northern Irish judge. He was educated at Larne Grammar School, Belfast Royal Academy, Clare College, Cambridge ( BA) and Queen's University, Belfast. He was knighted on his appointment as a Justice of the High Court of Northern Ireland, 1995. Sworn of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council on 25 January 2007 on his appointment as a Lord Justice of Appeal of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland. The Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland is a judge who is the appointed official holding office as President of the Courts of Northern Ireland and is head of the Judiciary of Northern Ireland. Paul Maguire (judge)
Sir Paul Richard Maguire PC (born 10 November 1952), styled The Rt. Hon. Lord. Justice Maguire, was an Appeal Court judge in Northern Ireland until his retirement in 2022. Prior to that he was a barrister and a politician. Maguire was called to the Bar in 1978 and became Queen's Counsel in 2006. He lectured at Queen's University Belfast, and served as a part-time Chairman of the Employment Tribunals. Maguire unsuccessfully stood for election to Belfast City Council for the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland in 1981. He was then elected at the 1982 Northern Ireland Assembly election for North Belfast. He stood for the Alliance party in the equivalent Westminster constituency of North Belfast at the 1983 general election, taking 9.1% of the vote, then again at the Belfast North by-election in 1986, when he increased his vote share to 16.7%. Sir Donnell Justin Patrick Deeny , KC, SC (born 25 April 1950), styled as the Rt Hon Sir Donnell Deeny, is a mediator and arbitrator (ACIArb) and a former member of the Court of Appeal of Northern Ireland. Sir Donnell is also member of the Court of Arbitration for Art at The Hague. Born in Lurgan, Deeny was educated at Clongowes Wood College, Trinity College Dublin and Queen's University, Belfast. During his time in Trinity College he acted as Auditor of the College Historical Society, the oldest undergraduate debating society in the world. Donnell Deeny won the Irish Times University Debating Trophy three times, the only person ever to do so. He was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 1974 and took silk in March 1989. Sir Patrick Coghlin, PC (born 7 November 1945), is a retired member of the Court of Appeal of Northern Ireland. Educated at Christ's College, Cambridge, Coghlin was called to the Bar in Northern Ireland in 1970; England and Wales (Gray's Inn) in 1975; and the Republic of Ireland and New South Wales, Australia, in 1993. He became Junior Crown Counsel in 1983, serving until 1985, when he was made a Queen's Counsel. He served as a deputy County Court judge from 1983 to 1994, and as Senior Crown Counsel for Northern Ireland 1993–97. He was appointed a judge of the High Court of Justice of Northern Ireland on 7 April 1997, receiving the customary knighthood.
