This is a comprehensive list of hospitals in Thailand. The list is sorted with Bangkok at the top, and then in the alphabetical order of the provinces. Public Hospitals Ministry of Public Health Office of the Permanent Secretary As of 2022, there are a total of 901 hospitals under the management of the Office of Permanent Secretary, separated into 34 regional, 92 general and 775 community hospitals. Bed count consists of beds that are available for inpatient admission only and does not include beds for temporary use, such as stretchers, beds in the emergency department, ICU, observation wards etc. = Regional Hospitals (Category A) = These are the largest hospitals operated by the MOPH, located at major provincial cities. Hospitals In Thailand
Hospitals in Thailand are operated by both the public and private sector, to provide medical services for prevention, cure and rehabilitation of patients with medical and health-related conditions. The majority are operated by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). Private hospitals are regulated by the Medical Registration Division under the MOPH's Department of Health Service Support following the ''Sanatorium Act, B.E. 2541''. Other government units and public organisations also operate hospitals, including the military, universities, local governments and the Red Cross. Buddhachinaraj Phitsanulok Hospital () is the main hospital of Phitsanulok Province, Thailand, and is classified under the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) as a regional hospital. It has a CPIRD Medical Education Center which trains doctors of the Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University. It is an affiliated teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. History Prior to 1940, Phitsanulok only had a health station named 'Benjamarachanusorn Health Station'. In 1939, the Governor of Phitsanulok, along with local doctors and nobility requested funding from the Public Health Division (now the MOPH, then operated by the Ministry of Interior) for the construction of a hospital in Phitsanulok. Construction was started on 20 November 1940, which is considered to be the founding date of the hospital. However, the hospital was not completed due to the Franco-Thai War with French Indochina. Phra Nang Klao Hospital () is the main public hospital of Nonthaburi Province, Thailand and is classified under the Ministry of Public Health as a regional hospital. It is capable of initial tertiary-level care. Its closest rapid transit station is Phra Nang Klao Bridge MRT Station on the MRT Purple Line. It is the main teaching hospital of the School of Medicine, Siam University and an affiliated teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. History Initially, Nonthaburi Province had no hospital of its own and patients had to go into Bangkok (Phra Nakhon) or Thonburi to access healthcare. Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital () is the main hospital of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand and is classified under the Ministry of Public Health as a regional hospital. It has a CPIRD Medical Education Center which trains doctors for the MOPH-Mahidol CPIRD Program. It is an affiliated teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University. History The construction of Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital started in 1952 on a 37 rai piece of land owned by Prince Yugala Dighambara, Prince of Lopburi that was location of the Pho Yai Rot Palace, his place of residence when he was viceroy of the South. In his honour, the first building was named 'Yugala Dighambara' Building. The hospital opened on 24 June 1953 with 25 beds and 2 doctors. Sawanpracharak Hospital () is the main hospital of Nakhon Sawan Province, Thailand and is classified under the Ministry of Public Health as a regional hospital. It has a CPIRD Medical Education Center which trains doctors for the MOPH-Mahidol CPIRD Program. It is an affiliated teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. History The Sukhaphiban Mueang Nakhon Sawan Health Station opened in 1931 to provide medical services for the sukhaphiban of Nakhon Sawan City. The name was then changed to Nakhon Sawan City Municipality Hospital, following a law passed to rearrange districts into municipalities. In 1950, the Ministry of Public Health took over hospital operations in regional areas from the Ministry of Interior and renamed the hospital Nakhon Sawan City Hospital, now with a capacity of 150 beds. Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital () is the main hospital of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand and is classified under the Ministry of Public Health as a regional hospital. It is the largest regional hospital in Thailand under the responsibility of the ministry and has 1,387 beds.
