This is a list of rulers and officials of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, a state under the Habsburg monarchy from 1772 to 1918. From the Partitions of Poland starting in September 1772 up to the fall of Austria-Hungary in 1918, the province was directly subordinate to the Emperors of Austria and the government in Vienna, and then a local Galicia Diet in Lemberg, hence the list includes governors, ministers and other people in charge of the local administration. Kingdom Of Galicia And Lodomeria
The Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria,, ; pl, Królestwo Galicji i Lodomerii, ; uk, Королівство Галичини та Володимирії, Korolivstvo Halychyny ta Volodymyrii; la, Rēgnum Galiciae et Lodomeriae also known as Austrian Galicia or colloquially Austrian Poland, was a constituent possession of the Habsburg monarchy in the historical region of Galicia in Eastern Europe. The crownland was established in 1772. The lands were annexed from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as part of the First Partition of Poland. In 1804 it became a crownland of the newly proclaimed Austrian Empire. From 1867 it was a crownland within the Cisleithanian or Austrian half of the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary. It maintained a degree of provincial autonomy. Its status remained unchanged until the dissolution of the monarchy in 1918. Franz Stadion, Graf von Warthausen (27 July 1806 – 8 June 1853), was an Austrian nobleman and a statesman. Biography Franz was a son of the Austrian diplomat Count Johann Philipp von Stadion-Wartshausen and his wife, Countess Maria Anna von Stadion-Thannhausen (1777-1841). Archduke Ferdinand Karl Joseph of Austria-Este (25 April 1781 – 5 November 1850) was the third son of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Este and of his wife Princess Maria Beatrice Ricciarda d'Este, last member and heiress of the House of Este. For much of the Napoleonic Wars he was in command of the Austrian army. Ferdinand was born at Milan. He attended the military academy in Wiener Neustadt before embarking on a military career. In 1805 in the war of the Third Coalition against France, Ferdinand was commander-in-chief of the Austrian forces with General Karl Freiherr Mack von Leiberich as his quartermaster general. In October his army was surrounded at Ulm. General Mack surrendered, but Ferdinand managed to escape with 2000 cavalry to Bohemia. There he took command of the Austrian troops and raised the local militia. With a total of 9,000 men he set out for Iglau to distract attention from the Coalition's movements. Joseph Von Hauer
Joseph von Hauer (March 6, 1778 Vienna–February 2, 1863 Vienna) was an Austrian finance official, statesman and paleontologist. Life Joseph von Hauer, son of Karl Josef von Hauer, member of the Austrian Imperial War Council, studied law until 1798 at the University of Vienna. In 1800 he became district commissioner in Korneuburg. After 1807 he worked at the Imperial Finance Bureau in Vienna, serving as its vice-chairman from 1831 until his retirement in 1848. He also performed various diplomatic tasks. In 1805 he served in the army commissariat with the Russian troops, and after the Battle of Austerlitz with the French troops. In 1807 he carried out an economic tour of the Alpine districts. In 1809 he was involved in the relocation of archival and artistic materials, including the Imperial "Cabinet of Curiosities" (''Naturalienkabinett''), from Vienna to Hungary to escape the French.
