Commercials GAA (Limerick)
Commercials GAA was a Limerick Gaelic Athletic Association club which folded around 1990. History Commercials were founded in 1884 by shop assistants working in the city. Many of its members came from County Limerick and surrounding counties. In the late 19th century, many shopworkers would have come from smallholder families as shop work was one of the few occupations open to rural Catholics with some education who had no land to inherit. Shopworkers were very active in nationalist and cultural organisations like the IRB, the Gaelic League and the GAA. Commercials were Limerick's dominant football team in the early days of the GAA, and won 16 county senior championships between 1887 and 1927. Adare GAA
Adare GAA club is a GAA club based in Adare, County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Adare have reached the County Senior Hurling Final on 12 occasions. After losing the finals of 1968, 1986, 1990, 1993 and 1996, they finally won their first championship in 2001 and successfully defended it in 2002. In 2003, they narrowly missed out on winning three county titles in a row after losing out to Patrickswell in the final. However, Adare managed to complete a historic 3-in-a-row in 2007 and 2008 and 2009. 2008 marked their first win in the Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship when they overcame Toomevara. They were subsequently defeated in the Munster Final by De La Salle on a scoreline of 0–10 to 1-09. Glenroe Hurling Club is one of the oldest clubs affiliated to the Gaelic Athletic Association. It plays hurling and formerly gaelic football. It plays in competitions organized by Limerick GAA. Pallasgreen GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Pallasgreen/Templebraden parish in east County Limerick, Ireland. The club was founded in 1887 and is a dual club fielding teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. Location The club is situated in the parish of Pallasgreen/Templebraden and is a member of the East Board of Limerick GAA. Old Christians GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) was formed in Limerick, Ireland in 1962 for the development of the games of Hurling and Gaelic Football in the southern part of the city.
