Left Party (Turkey)
The Left Party ( tr, Sol Parti, often written as SOL Parti), is a secular, socialist political party in Turkey. The Party was founded after Freedom and Solidarity Party ( tr, Özgürlük ve Dayanışma Partisi - ÖDP) decided to change its name as the Left Party at the 8th Extraordinary Congress held in Ankara on December 22, 2019. Although after the foundation the leadership of the Left Party did not completely rule out the legacy of its predecessor (ÖDP), which was more inclined to libertarian socialism and political pluralism ideologically, the party tends to differentiate itself from the past. 1999 Turkish General Election
General elections were held in Turkey on Sunday, 18 April 1999. For the first time, local, council and parliamentary elections were held on the same day. Bülent Ecevit's Democratic Left Party (DSP) had been soaring in popularity after the capture of Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan, emerged as the biggest party and swept the board in most of Turkey's western provinces. It failed, however, to obtain an overall majority, and did not do nearly as well in the eastern provinces. Communist Movement Of Turkey
The Communist Movement of Turkey ( tr, Türkiye Komünist Hareketi, TKH) is a communist party in Turkey. The TKH was split from the People's Communist Party of Turkey in 2015, which was split from the Communist Party of Turkey in 2014. The TKH is one of the components in the United June Movement, a political coalition initiative which was founded after Gezi Park revolt. Hopa
Hopa ( Laz and , Hamshen ) is a city and district of Artvin Province in northeast Turkey. It is located on the eastern Turkish Black Sea coast about from the city of Artvin and 18 kilometres from the border with Georgia. Geography Hopa is on the Black Sea Coast from Artvin and from the Sarp border crossing (into Sarpi) on the Georgian border. Left-wing populism, also called social populism, is a political ideology that combines left-wing politics with populist rhetoric and themes.
