Ranjana Deshmukh (1955 – March 3, 2000) was a popular Marathi language, Marathi actress in 1970s & '80s, famous on-screen as just Ranjana. Life and career She is the daughter of Vatsala Deshmukh. Her aunt, Sandhya was married to V. Shantaram, who introduced her to the screen in ''Chandanachi Choli Ang Ang Jaali (1975)''. She then starred in the lead role in Shantaram's next film, ''Jhunj.'' Ravindra Mahajani is a Marathi actor and director. From the late seventies to the mid eighties, Mahajani featured in Marathi films. Career In his early career, he drove taxis and auditioned for films. He created Marathi films until 1987-1988. He was known as "the Vinod Khanna of the Marathi film industry" due to his personality and looks. Because of his resemblance to Vinod Khanna, director N. Chandra wanted him to star in his 1986 film ''Ankush''. Mahajani declined. Mahajani featured in many romantic songs, including "Ha Sagar Kinara", "Sumbaran Gao Deva", and "Phite Andharache Jaale". His film ''Devta'' is popular among rural fans. Nilu Phule
Nilu Phule (Marathi pronunciation: iɭuː pʰuleː 4 April 1930 - 13 July 2009) was an Indian actor known for his roles in Marathi movies and Marathi theatre. Nilu Phule acted in around 250 Marathi and Hindi movies during his film career. He was most prominently seen playing the roles of notorious villains in the movies. Phule was also a social worker, and was associated with Rashtra Seva Dal. Early life Phule was born in 1930 in Pune as Nilkanth Krushnaji Phule in a Mali caste. He was involved in the independence movement. According to his interview in a serial 'Vastraharan' on a Marathi Channel, he was a freedom fighter from Pune. Phule's first job was that of a gardener at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, aged 17. He used to get a salary of Rs. 80 per month, out of which, he used to donate Rs. 10 to the Rashtriya Seva Dal, a social organization he was involved with. Sulochana Latkar (born 30 July 1928) known by her screen name Sulochana, is a well-known actress of Marathi and Hindi cinema and has acted in 50 films in Marathi and around 250 films in Hindi. Sudhir Phadke
Sudhir Phadke (, 25 July 1919 – 29 July 2002) was an Indian singer-composer. He was regarded as an icon of the Marathi film industry and Marathi ''Sugam Sangeet'' (light music) for five decades. Apart from Marathi, Phadke sang and composed songs in several Hindi films as well. Phadke's nickname was Babuji. Life Sudhir Phadke was born in Kolhapur on 25 July 1919. His birth name was Ram Phadke, but he later changed his name to 'Sudhir' when he composed a song for HMV. Phadke acquired his primary tutelage in vocal classical music from the late Vamanrao Padhye in Kolhapur. After beginning his career with HMV in 1941, he joined the Prabhat Film Company as music director in 1946. During his long career, he composed music for many Marathi and Hindi films. Marathi cinema is an Indian film industry of Marathi-language motion pictures. It is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Based in old Mumbai, it is the oldest film industry of Indian cinema.
