Last Chance Range
The Last Chance Range of California is located near the Nevada state line in eastern Inyo County in the United States. The range lies in a generally north–south direction, and stretches for more than 30 miles. The mountains lie to the northwest of the Cottonwood Mountains, and are almost entirely within Death Valley National Park, except for a small area near the Sulphur Mine in the north. The range reaches an elevation of 8,674 feet above sea level at Dry Mountain in the southern part of the range. Inyo County () is a county in the eastern central part of the U.S. state of California, located between the Sierra Nevada and the state of Nevada. In the 2020 census, the population was 19,016. The county seat is Independence. Inyo County is on the east side of the Sierra Nevada and southeast of Yosemite National Park in Central California. It contains the Owens River Valley; it is flanked to the west by the Sierra Nevada and to the east by the White Mountains and the Inyo Mountains. Cottonwood Mountains (Inyo County)
The Cottonwood Mountains range is found in Death Valley National Park in Inyo County, California, U.S. The range lies just to the northwest of the Panamint Mountains at the top of Death Valley, and run in a north–south direction. Tin Mountain, at the northern end of the range, reaches an elevation of 2,729 meters. At the southern end of the range is Towne Pass, at 1,511 meters. The Last Chance Range is to the east. Death Valley National Park is an American national park that straddles the California–Nevada border, east of the Sierra Nevada. The park boundaries include Death Valley, the northern section of Panamint Valley, the southern section of Eureka Valley and most of Saline Valley. Racetrack Playa
The Racetrack Playa, or The Racetrack, is a scenic dry lake feature with " sailing stones" that inscribe linear "racetrack" imprints. It is located above the northwestern side of Death Valley, in Death Valley National Park, Inyo County, California, U.S.A. Geography The Racetrack Playa is above sea level, and long (north-south) by wide (east-west). The playa is exceptionally flat and level with the northern end being only higher than the southern. This occurrence is due to major influx of fine-grained sediment that accumulates at the north end. The highest point surrounding the Racetrack is the high Ubehebe Peak, rising above the lakebed to the west.
