Lars Stjernkvist
Lars Stjernkvist (born 1955) is a Swedish politician and journalist. He served as the secretary general of the Swedish Social Democratic Party between 1982 and 1992. He also served at the Parliament from 1991 and 1998. Biography Stjernkvist was born in Motala, Östergötlands, in 1955. He joined the Social Democratic Party on 24 October 1975. He was appointed chairman of the party's Östergötlands organization. Next he moved to Norrköping where he worked for a local newspaper entitled ''Folkbladet''. He was elected to the Parliament on 30 September 1991, and his tenure ended on 11 May 1998. Then he served as director general of now-defunct Swedish Integration Agency from 1998 to 2000. In 1999 he was named as the secretary general of the Social Democratic Party, replacing Ingela Thalén in the post. Swedish Social Democratic Party
The Swedish Social Democratic Party, formally the Swedish Social Democratic Workers' Party ( sv, Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti ; S/SAP), usually referred to as The Social Democrats ( sv, link=no, Socialdemokraterna ), is a social-democratic political party in Sweden. Founded in 1889, the SAP is the country's oldest and currently largest party. From the mid-1930s to the 1980s, the Social Democratic Party won more than 40% of the vote. Ingela Thalén
Ingela Anita Thalén (born 1 October 1943) is a Swedish politician for the Swedish Social Democratic Party and a former minister. She was a member of the Swedish government 1987–1991 and 1994–2002. Thalén is the daughter of laundry worker Erland Ericsson and tailor Sara Ström. She was a member of the city council and chairman (mayor) of the municipality board of Järfälla municipality between 1983 and 1987. After that, she was appointed by Prime Minister Ingvar Carlsson as new Minister for Employment, a ministerial post she had between 1987 and 1990. She was appointed as Minister of Health between 1990 and 1991 and also between 1994 and 1996. Thalén continued as a member of parliament in Sweden between 1988 and 2004. Marita Ulvskog
Marita Helena Ulvskog (born 4 September 1951) is a Swedish politician who served as Member of the European Parliament from 2009 until 2019. She is a member of the Social Democrats, part of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats. Early career Ulvskog is a trained journalist and she worked for several years on the Journal of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation. Member of the Swedish Parliament, 1998–2009 Ulvskog was a member of the Parliament of Sweden from 1998 to 2009. Motala
Motala () is a locality and the seat of Motala Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden with 29,823 inhabitants (41,956 in the entire municipality) in 2010. It is the third largest city of Östergötland, following Linköping and Norrköping. ''Folkbladet'' (Swedish: ''The People's Paper'') is a Swedish-language newspaper published in Norrköping, Sweden. The paper has been in circulation since 1905. History and profile The paper was founded by workers with the name ''Östergötlands Folkblad'' in 1905. In 1998 it was renamed ''Folkbladet''. The paper is headquartered in Norrköping and is owned by the Norrköping Tidningar AB (NTM Group). The company acquired the paper in 2000.
