The appropriate ward of Sandwell is simply called Langley. The population at the 2011 census was 12,969. Langley Green has a library, a theatre and a railway station called Langley Green railway station. The Oldbury Rep Theatre, which had its first production in 1944, moved to its current location in 1956. The theatre is Sandwell's only purpose-built theatre. It hosts a variety of productions and has established itself as a community theatre providing a venue for local organisations and schools. Oldbury is a market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, West Midlands, England. It is the administrative centre of the borough and one of its six constituent towns. Langley Green railway station serves the Langley Green, Sandwell, Langley Green area of Oldbury, West Midlands, Oldbury in Sandwell, in the West Midlands (county), West Midlands, England. It is located on the Birmingham to Worcester via Kidderminster Line. The station is managed by West Midlands Trains, who provide the majority of train services; there are also occasional services provided by Chiltern Railways. History The station was opened on 1 May 1885 by the Great Western Railway on their line from Birmingham Snow Hill railway station, Birmingham Snow Hill to Stourbridge Junction railway station, Stourbridge Junction.
