Lake Tuz Natural Gas Storage
Lake Tuz Natural Gas Storage ( tr, Tuz Gölü Doğalgaz Deposu) is an underground natural gas storage facility under construction in Aksaray Province, central Turkey. It was developed artificially in a salt formation. The storage facility is situated near Sultanhanı town in Aksaray Province south of Lake Tuz at a depth of . It was established by creating salt caverns. The twelve man-made salt caverns each with a volume of can hold natural gas. Daily delivery from the storage can be up to when needed. The geological structure of the area is suitable for large underground natural gas storage facilities. The salt formation covers an area of . It is long and around thick. It has a salt dome structure. To create the caverns in the salt formation, fresh water was brought by pipeline from Hirfanlı Dam at distance. Using the process of solution mining, water was injected through a borehole into the salt formation, and the saline water, which is formed after dissolution of salt i ...

Natural Gas Storage
Natural gas is a commodity that can be stored for an indefinite period of time in natural gas storage facilities for later consumption. Usage Gas storage is principally used to meet load variations. Gas is injected into storage during periods of low demand and withdrawn from storage during periods of peak demand. It is also used for a variety of secondary purposes, including: *Balancing the flow in pipeline systems. This is performed by mainline transmission pipeline companies to maintain operational integrity of the pipelines, by ensuring that the pipeline pressures are kept within design parameters. *Maintaining contractual balance. Shippers use stored gas to maintain the volume they deliver to the pipeline system and the volume they withdraw. Without access to such storage facilities, any imbalance situation would result in a hefty penalty. *Leveling production over periods of fluctuating demand. Producers use storage to store any gas that is not immediately marketable, typi ...

Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Storage Facility
Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Storage Facility ( tr, Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Terminali) is an above-ground liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks facility in Tekirdağ Province, northwestern Turkey. The LNG storage facility is located in Marmara Ereğlisi, east of Tekirdağ and west of Istanbul. It is part of an LNG terminal operated by the state-owned natural gas distributor BOTAŞ, where LNG carriers at a discharge port pump the imported cargo ashore. LNG is stored in tanks and regasified to convey to the main pipeline system as needed. The project for the construction of the LNG storage facility launched in 1984. The facility went into service in August 1994. In 2007, six filling platforms were added for tank trucks A tank truck, gas truck, fuel truck, or tanker truck (American English) or tanker (British English) is a motor vehicle designed to carry liquids or gases on roads. The largest such vehicles are similar to railroad tank cars, which are also design ... having capacity. Thre ...

Buildings And Structures Under Construction In Turkey
A building, or edifice, is an enclosed structure with a roof and walls standing more or less permanently in one place, such as a house or factory (although there's also portable buildings). Buildings come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and functions, and have been adapted throughout history for a wide number of factors, from building materials available, to weather conditions, land prices, ground conditions, specific uses, prestige, and aesthetic reasons. To better understand the term ''building'' compare the list of nonbuilding structures. Buildings serve several societal needs – primarily as shelter from weather, security, living space, privacy, to store belongings, and to comfortably live and work. A building as a shelter represents a physical division of the human habitat (a place of comfort and safety) and the ''outside'' (a place that at times may be harsh and harmful). Ever since the first cave paintings, buildings have also become objects or canvasses of much artis ...

Natural Gas In Turkey
Oil and gas each supply over a quarter of Turkey's energy. As Turkey produces little oil and gas the country's imports cost more than its exports, which is a problem for the economy. However a large gas field in the Black Sea is expected to start production in 2023. The country consumes 50 to 60 billion cubic metres of natural gas each year, almost half of which is imported from Russia. Gas storage capacity is being increased. Over 80% of the population have access to natural gas, and it supplies half of the country's heating requirements. Households buy the most gas, followed by industry and power stations. As the state owned oil and gas wholesaler BOTAŞ has 80% of the gas market, the government can and does subsidize residential and industrial gas customers. All industrial and commercial customers, and households using a lot of gas, can switch suppliers. As only 7% of oil is produced locally, Turkey is almost completely dependent on imports of oil and oil products, su ...

Energy Infrastructure In Turkey
In physics, energy (from Ancient Greek: ἐνέργεια, ''enérgeia'', “activity”) is the quantitative property that is transferred to a body or to a physical system, recognizable in the performance of work and in the form of heat and light. Energy is a conserved quantity—the law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed. The unit of measurement for energy in the International System of Units (SI) is the joule (J). Common forms of energy include the kinetic energy of a moving object, the potential energy stored by an object (for instance due to its position in a field), the elastic energy stored in a solid object, chemical energy associated with chemical reactions, the radiant energy carried by electromagnetic radiation, and the internal energy contained within a thermodynamic system. All living organisms constantly take in and release energy. Due to mass–energy equivalence, any object that has m ...
